Offer Day

These kids have 2 more years of development.

I know it's very limited in what I have seen from Towns. However, from what I have seen/ read...... He is on/ off with his shot..... Not lights out. He cannot create off dribble. Nit create own shot. His Release is very low. Average at best rebounder @ 6'7. Not strong under the bucket. So - what does he bring? 6'7 avg rebounder, avg shooter with low release that can't create. Just not impressed. Compare Leaf highlights vs Towns. Not close. I'm sure coaches have their reasons. I just don't see. AND I believe it's OK to question our coaches. They have done a ton right but are not perfect and have had our share of whiffs.

Im totally with you about being able to question our staff because nobody is beyond question in my view. That being said, I think Towns’ handle is above average and he can create his own shot. I do agree about the release point, but Caris has the same issue. Low release point is more of an issue off the dribble than catch and shoot situations. I think Towns will be much more catch and shoot at UM rather than shooting off the dribble.

Just opinions here.
If we get Towns, I will root for him 100%. & truly hope I am totally wrong and he is a stud.
I thought I was wrong once back in 2001, then realized I was mistaken. Lol
We all want what’s best for our loved program.

Btw
Happy Fathers Day to all Fathers of the board!!!

Michigan and Oklahoma offered Thornton, his father, Tank Thornton, confirmed to SNY.tv.

In addition, Kentucky’s John Calipari and Kenny Payne called to check in and say he plans to offer.

“[Calipari] said, ‘I love him,’” said Tank, who previously coached former Kentucky forward Enes Kanter briefly at Stoneridge Prep. “‘I want to ofer him face to face. I want him to know how hard it is here.’ Cal will tell you if you want to be a pro, you got to take a look at Kentucky.

“He’s been recruiting him since eighth grade. I love Cal and we’ve always had a good relationship.”

Tank said Derryck plans to visit Kentucky within the “next week or two.”

It’s 6pm pacific and Leaf was just offered by…Texas

If I was ever sure Cal mimics JB its now.

Still think Ullis’ presence, Meyer’s connection and Kobi Simmons/Dennis Smith/Jaylen Fisher all play in our favor.

Well so much for UK having other higher priority PGs? They have been recruiting him since the 8th grade, and “I love him.” Nothing in this recruitment is a done deal, is it?

No, not really.

I know eleven warriors is an enemy blog, but some of you guys need to read this, especially the ones tweeting at recruits. http://www.elevenwarriors.com/college-football-recruiting/2014/06/36419/the-11w-book-of-etiquette-chapter-1-following-recruiting-without-being-an-asshole

Uconn has contacted DT this evening as well

Gotta believe there is a lot of “special ops” going on behind the scenes when it comes to putting on perceived pressure to commit early. Hopefully DTJR has always wanted to be here and Cal is just sending out his obligatory form letter to any and all top 25s. Thornton is the key to this class REALLY being special. We need him!

Sounds familiar. Cough cough Booker cough cough.
Thus the offers to Winston and Goodin. Staff on this right.

Keep in mind Adam Zag is a NBA and Eastcoast guy.

Everything I’ve read across team sites indicate neither are in serious contention. Either way, the 3 PG approach is perfect and hopefully Jamal Murray and maybe even Devearl Ramsey get offers.

Have to believe your right G. But man am I sick of Calipari! I know he’s doing what he always does, but I really hope that DTJR sees his HUGE opportunity here and isn’t swayed by the bright lights. He is totally the key to possibly attracting Battle and others.
