That was awesome effort
So, you guys…
Swords is going be something in three years. Better than Naz.
That was a very encouraging loss to South Carolina. I thought they would get blown out of this game before tonight, but I’ll take a close loss
I watched on delay but this was a very encouraging game. That would’ve been something if they’d pulled it out!
I was going to post this exact thing last night. Could not agree more with the sentiment.
Former U-M assistant and Michigan native, Carrie Moore, leads Harvard into Assembley Hall to beat a top 25 IU team.
Impressive win for them. Wouldn’t mind bringing Moore in once KBA calls it a career. She’s only 39!!
KBA is only 54 and still seems to be on her way up. Not a bad backup plan, though.
First dub of the season, a 31-point win over Lehigh. Syla Swords had 20/6/5 and both Olivia Olson and Jordan Hobbs had 17 points.
It seems like KBA may really be tailoring her rotation to the opponent this year. We’ve had the same starters each game and basically used the same 9 players but against South Carolina, our bench bigs got 31 minutes (we don’t really start a big, we go 5 out) and our bench guards got 9. Against Lehigh the bigs got 9 minutes and guards got 48 (Olson had some foul trouble)
So what you’re saying is the kids are alright. Bright future!
Also, Mia Holloway (the third freshman starter) who showed some good playmaking against South Carolina but also looked a bit overmatched (like a true freshman playing the defending champs) had a better than 2:1 assist/to ratio, which is a good sign
Not sure how much she’ll really ever score (janky shot, too little probably to be good at the rim), but a slick handle and good vision
Olson was more efficient in this game as well. Was very much out of control against South Carolina, which is not unexpected from a true freshman considering how good SC is at defense as a program.
I knew the freshmen would be good but I underestimated them. If Phelia had stuck around, we would really have something cooking this year
Add Phelia and Williams and I feel like we’d have had a real shot at making another Elite 8 run.

Have a feeling she is going to win a bunch of these this year
Michigan got the 4th most votes in the Others Receiving Votes part of the AP Top-25.
All three verbal commits made it official today, signing their LOI.
The women are up 41-10 on CMU and they’re not even halfway through the 2nd quarter.
They won 99-62. Olivia Olson led the way with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Mila Holloway had 21 points, 8 assists, 2 rebounds, and 5 steals.
