Game 2: Oakland at Michigan Open Thread

I would like to see an auto-bench for turnovers. Five gets you on the bench until the next half

Pack up the season, boys. Cancel Christmas. It’s all over.

Smith comes out and the offense goes down like last year when X sat.

Don’t want to make too much of one game so I’m just hoping this is a case of Michigan overlooking an overmatched opponent.

Excited for 2nd half adjustments. Howard > Harbaugh

Fair point on zone. My (albeit pessimistic) take is it’s a much bigger leap to characterize Franz Wagner as a first-team all-conference guy and a guaranteed NBA draft pick after his sophomore season based on the year of evidence we currently have than it is to just say he’s a very good Big Ten player who isn’t necessarily ready to make a leap to superstar status.

Yeah having no real backup pg has hurt us this game and I imagine could in spurts in the future. Love Eli but that’s just not his game, and it’s unfair to expect him to do more than tread water playing elongated minutes there. Hoping Zeb will look less like a freshman come Big Ten play.

Well let’s hope we never play against a zone defense again

Getting outworked and outcoached by a disastrously bad Oakland team is not what I would have expected

We need Smith back in the game.

Surprisingly the Zeb, Terrence, AD lineup is not good

A lot of players crowding each other. Very chaotic

I’d love to sneak into the locker room at half time. Me thinks we see a totally different energy/outcome from this team in the second half.

It’s kinda like watching 2 monkeys hump a coconut right now. Settle down and let’s let the game come to us boys!

When was the last time Juwan saw a 1-3-1? I feel like this isn’t terribly surprising. Put Smith back in and this would be much better but someone ingrained Beileins worst characteristic in him

It’s so annoying how the one thing I didn’t like about Beilein (the dogmatic auto-bench) has carried over

The fallacy of auto-benching is that it does not consider the impact that giving hope to a hopeless opponent.
