Well obviously it has nothing to with X & Os, ATO sets, and in game adjustments, because Howard has clearly established he is very good at all of those things.
Thatās true to an extent, but heās also looked a bit like that all year. Heās yet to have a āgoodā game even relative to his playing time and role. I still think heāll end up being a good player eventually, Iām just a bit worried about how many different things he needs to work on. Iām also very worried about Jackson, Collins, and Bufkin being the only backcourt options next year.
I like Austin but my guess was those threes were on him. Wisconsin has freebies all day they missed. Johns needs those minutes bottom line.
Hunter 27
Johns 9
Davis 4
One was on Dickinson and one was on Davis. Both were pretty well-defended honestly.
Johns as the backup 5 seems to be totally dead sadly.
KenPom is updated. Michigan only dropped one spot (1.48 points per 100 possessions). Could have been worseā¦
One of them was on Hunter, but Hunter had a hand up. Robbins was holding the ball and Dickinson was set up in front of him, Robbins just took a really stupid shot and made it.
I agree their a solid team , just me being bitter. With how well we were playing I expected them to be locked in still and win by 6-8
I agree. The first two just seemed like āthe universe is against youā shots, as opposed to any bad defense. Keep in mind, Minnesota was 0-11 from three in the first half, with quite a few coming on better looks than that. Just one of those thingsā¦ but really bad timing.
Iām pretty pleased. For a 20 point blowout this game thread was relatively reasonable. Good work team UMHoops.
Lol, I am quite superstitious. Like me watching would have changed things lulz. I get crazy like that.
Last week when Colts were up 10-7 and on the five first and goal. I paused it. Changed all my clothes and went into the back rooom to wAtch it on my phone.
They immediately held and then went 95 yards for the score. Needless to say I never left my back room for the rest of the game.
Then this was DEFINITELY your fault.
Trust in Frankie. Zeb is not ready all around, for sure. He was just particularly not ready for this.
It always helps to whine, I just like to whine about you whining it does a lot of good, Dude.
Huge loss. Thanks for the update. Not having him hounding Carr is huge. Gotta see if Carr went off.
Youād hope Chaundee would have filled in well though.
Carr baited Chaundee all game. Would step back to draw him in and then blow by him, stopping on a dime to draw a foul. Really impressive game from him.
Carr was 6-13 from 2 and 0-5 from 3. He was 5/6 from the line, but thatās still not particularly efficient. Robbins was Minnesotaās most efficient player on offense, but really they won this game with defense. Michigan committed 20 turnovers in a 71-possession game. Thatās a lot.
They have to find a transfer guard again next year. You canāt rely on two freshmen guards and Zeb as your only options. They can have an awesome frontcourt but if their guard play is shaky, itās going to be a problem.
As for this team, would be nice to see this team curtail its TO problem. Not saying it has to be Beilein level of taking care of the ball, but you canāt give it away every 3rd trip down the court.
We probably should slow our roll on Dickinson being this great passer. He has 11 assists to 23 TOās on the season. He still needs some work on handling double teams.
I thought Juwan made some poor substitution decisions. Not that the starters were good but he probably should have relied on them more.
IMO this is probably a āgood lossā in terms of the teams mindest going forward. We get a chance to learn from our mistakes and realize we arenāt unbeatable and can make this a huge learning opportunity. It is just 1 loss. I have faith our coaches and players will take this accept it and move forward and use this loss as fuel. Go Blue!
Due to the COVID rules, everyone gets an extra year of eligibility next year. Smith or Brooks could stay around if they so chose.
That would be great but not sure we can count on either of them wanting to come back for another year.
