Wow. Really? It seems like the same every year

MSU is 0-4 against the top half of the conference. Two were on the road and they lost both by double digits. I think they’ll have to play better than they did in their first game back, but I’d still be expecting a win.

I think if Michigan got rid of all its rust against Purdue, it should be a decent-sized win. But I wasn’t very convinced they got their mojo back in the second half the way the men’s team did Sunday, so it’ll be interesting to see if the last four days of practice helped.

Michigan still can’t hit an outside shot (0-4 today after 2/15 against Purdue) but Naz is a monster and Michigan’s up 22-14 after 1 quarter. Naz has 12 on 5-5 shooting with 3 boards and Leigha Brown has 6. MSU also has 7 team fouls through 1 quarter.

Akienreh Johnson’s favorite play is: Throw up a weird shot and if it doesn’t go in let Naz get the rebound. It works about 60% of the time

Looks good to me. I love her energy. In fact, I like the whole team’s energy. Not always connecting, but hooping with real pizzaz.

Michigan really could’ve put away the Spartans up 16, but letting them end the half with five straight points is playing with fire

Winning the 2-pt shooting battle! And look at that shot distribution chart!

Up 11 at the half. Had the lead up to a game high 16 before a late 5-0 run by MSU.

Hillmon is still Hillmon, up to 20 points and 4 boards but she does have 2 fouls. Nia Clouden is trying to keep MSU in it on the other end with 14 points.

Difference this quarter was better offense by the rest of Michigan’s team. Nolan and Haley Brown each have 5, and Leigha Brown has 10. Nolan, Leigha and Johnson each hit a 3 as well as Michigan went 3-5 from 3 this quarter.

Shot composition looking pretty good

Having Naz and Leigha Brown is a pretty big edge for shot distro…

Naz is an auto-bucket around the hoop. U-M has crazy rim shooting numbers.

Feel like we’ve been getting some good whistles. But the aggressor usually gets the advantage from the refs

What you don’t want to do, if you’re Michigan, is to give up a 7-0 run to end the quarter with your two best players with 4 fouls each.
