I get that is what you were addressing. I was trying to tie it in to my response to his post which was to say that I do feel like a better way to build enthusiasm for home games is to have some name opponents at Crisler.
I am trying to think of whether we’ve had a home and home with a name opponent in recent years and I’m not coming up with anything. I may have to dip into past schedules.
I do think it would be great to get that going with some team like a Baylor or, dare I say, LSU.
Admittedly, I had not looked ahead to the future schedule. As you note, my main point was there were essentially no interesting games from November 23 (Syracuse game) until December 29 (Oregon game). Part of that is unlucky Big Ten scheduling because Purdue is terrible.
Maybe it won’t matter in the end, but I just think one good game between those two would have helped with fan momentum, which I think can be important, especially with the men’s team being so good and maybe overshadowing this excellent women’s team a bit.
I looked back at some past schedules and we played ND at home in November of 2019 and then Syracuse in the B1G/ACC challenge a couple of weeks later. So, it’s been a minute since we’ve hosted any marquee non-con opponents at Crisler.
