Michigan Women's Hoops

I get that is what you were addressing. I was trying to tie it in to my response to his post which was to say that I do feel like a better way to build enthusiasm for home games is to have some name opponents at Crisler.

And I agree with what you added on.

oh I’m joking about Kyle Church. another scheduling disasterclass, etc

and just to prevent myself from making TWO posts where I explain my joke: I know Kyle Church does not handle the women’s scheduling

Thank you for clearing that up!

I am trying to think of whether we’ve had a home and home with a name opponent in recent years and I’m not coming up with anything. I may have to dip into past schedules.

I do think it would be great to get that going with some team like a Baylor or, dare I say, LSU.

I’m sorry, but it’s just not working out. You’re fired.

Admittedly, I had not looked ahead to the future schedule. As you note, my main point was there were essentially no interesting games from November 23 (Syracuse game) until December 29 (Oregon game). Part of that is unlucky Big Ten scheduling because Purdue is terrible.

Maybe it won’t matter in the end, but I just think one good game between those two would have helped with fan momentum, which I think can be important, especially with the men’s team being so good and maybe overshadowing this excellent women’s team a bit.

I looked back at some past schedules and we played ND at home in November of 2019 and then Syracuse in the B1G/ACC challenge a couple of weeks later. So, it’s been a minute since we’ve hosted any marquee non-con opponents at Crisler.

We’re up 36-20 in the 2nd quarter. I don’t have BTN+ so I’m just checking the box score every so often. Olson has 13 and Swords has 10.

97-54 win!

Five players scored double-figures, led by Olson with 23.

Wouldn’t be surprised if that is the score of the men’s game, too.

Torvik predicts a 76-69 victory for the ladies. Any road W is a good one, though!
