Tentatively announcing October 22nd per Michigan 247
For some reason I think he really feels like he fits at UM.
My only concern is why he is announcing a couple days after UK.
I think Chatman did cause the coaches put some heat on and some other kids were announcing.
Really want this kid at Michigan.

My take is that its either great in the sense that he already knows he’s picking UM and simply following through with the visit to UK to be a man of his word…OR its bad in the sense that he already knows he’s picking UK and is using his visit to confirm that choice.
Man. I just looked at that instagram pic of him with Trey Lyles (friend and AAU teammate also looking at the Wildcats) from this weekend at Kentucky… and I don’t know. I must admit my confidence is shaken a bit. I picked Blackmon to come to Michigan over Booker. Now I am thinking Booker is the more likely commit. Really hope we get one of the two!
Someone on a MSU board is claiming Booker will commit to Missouri
Blackmon Jr was going to perhaps schedule a visit to IU. Haven’t heard anything on it.
Haven’t heard anything from UK sites, either.
Bolden would be a heck of a consolation prize, if we can get him.

In a high profile recruiting effort like Blackmon’s, I would expect MSU to advertise that Missouri angle is good instead of Kentucky or another B1G school to inspire confidence. That said, I’ve not once felt like Blackmon was in the bag. I would still be surprised if he committed to a B1G school. Hopefully it’s UM.
If not though, yes Bolden would be entirely worth the effort IMHO for a late signing period get.
Blackmon isn’t sure if he’ll visit IU prior to making his decision per ESPN interview tonight.
Doubt if this guy has much credibility, but he claims that Blackmon’s former teammate informed him that James is heading to UK
Lyles and Blackmon Jr have been thought to be a package deal since decommiting.
Evan Daniels doesn’t believe Booker & Blackmon both end up at UK
@NextCats I don't see Blackmon & Booker at same school, but who knows

Who knows. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Isn’t that irrelevant since the new rumor is Booker to Missouri with 2 visits in a week period? If they both go to their father’s school, who can blame them? I’ve been saying we need a combo-forward and not a guard but you guys are so convinced.

2014 schollies by position
Center position: Horford, Doyle, Bielfeldt
PF position: Donnal, Wilson, Bielfeldt (+ some Chatman, yes I think he will get some run there)
SF position: Chatman, Irvin
SG position: Stauskas, Levert
PG position: Walton, Albrecht
I think you can make an argument for a combo-forward or SG. The frontcourt depth is decent, but wouldn’t hurt from some bolstering. Beilein does tend to prefer “four guards” on offense, which gives you reason to want another dead-eye shooter on the wing.
I can’t get a read on either Blackmon or Booker. It still seems easy enough to say go for one of the two. If you strike out on both, go for Jonah Bolden. One possible benefit of missing out on Blackmon/Booker if one/both go to UK, may give us better position with Coleman and Kennard.
Donnal and Wilson is not something I want to rely on for a year.
While I love Bolden, you simply can’t turn Blackmon down if he wants to be here regardless of depth needs. He is that good in my opinion. Will contribute immediately
I agree but only due to timing. If Bolden and Blackmon Jr wanted to commit at the same time, I’d go with Bolden.
He’s taking his visit to IU this weekend with AAU pal Jaquan Lyle
From what people are saying, seems like it would be a surprise for Blackmon to go anywhere but UK at this point. I still think we have a good shot with Booker if only because he seems close to his family and playing for UM would give him the opportunity to play a couple hours away from them. If we get neither, I really hope the coaches go hard after Bolden.
Yeah I don’t think Booker cares that much about playing close to mom. He never seems sad to be leaving the state of Michigan when he heads back south. He’s most likely going to go where playing time is most readily available and that is not going to be here.
