Game 3: Elon at Michigan Open Thread

Despite Elon scoring a semi well this half I feel like the defense has been good. One was a contested 3, one was a long two by their center, the rest if their offense this game has been mid range jumpers made by Sheffield. You can live with that for sure.

Under 12 media timeout

I’m feeling pretty good about the season generally at the moment. Brooks and DeJulius look much better, so the rotation could look like this and be real solid:

Teske 30 Castleton 10
Livers 25 Johns 15
Wagner 30 Livers 10
Brooks 25 DeJulius 15
Simpson 35 Dejulius 5

Still sitting on 7 total tos. Pretty good @ this point.

Nice move Colin.

Collin has strong footwork down low

Still learning tho

Livers had two or three open cuts there

ā€œJones Jr.ā€ still doing a little too much ball watching on offense. Might be by design, but he just seems like a player that needs to be dialed up for off—ball screens or something/anything. He’s too talented to stand in the corners.

Think he should be used similar to GR3. Would like to see them try and get him going for lobs on the baseline.

Zavier already very good at throwing the NBA pass/lob where you just get it up around the rim and let Teske judge it in the air. Harden/Capela like

John’s moving sideways on last shot. I’ve been wondering what everyone sees in him that hasn’t watched high school tapes.

Johns could definitely get some highlight dunks this year

I think he has a large array of skills, and still hasn’t figured out how to utilize them. Like, at all.

I am not saying he has no skills, I am just saying I haven’t witnessed much skill. And I have read he was a stud in high school.

In fairness, I think being forced into the 5 Last year hurt him a bit. But I also know there have been consistency questions surrounding him that go back 5 years. I don’t know what he can be, but I’m confident he can be more than this!

That might have been the most boring college basketball game I’ve ever watched, haha. Maybe it was the announcers, or the fact it seemed like Michigan was barely trying

Sorry about the mind lapse. But yeah like everyone is saying Michigan didn’t have to try too hard on this one. Not much of anything to complain about.

I’m liking how Dejulius is playing so far. He’s reminding me a bit of Walton actually…especially with all of the rebounds. I can definitely see him being a solid starter next year.

Was really happy with how they turned around the offensive rebounding stat after the 1st timeout. Ended up 7-7 which isn’t ideal, but after giving up 4 in the first couple minutes, was good to see an adjustment.
