Former Michigan Players NOT in NBA

Yeah, I’m not trying to say Luke isn’t a good player and I think he has done pretty well given his limitations to carve out a solid NBA career. I just remain shocked that Nik was never able to figure it out. It feels unlikely that he ever will unfortunately either.

He may get another crack at it, but he’ll be 29 when next season starts. The window is starting to close. However, if he’s really found his shot, some team will give him a chance.
I will say he looks to be in the best shape of his life.

Agree with this take. Compare Nik’s movement to Kennard or even Duncan for that matter - he’s a lot more stiff when he moves off ball, which makes him an easier cover in the NBA.

So much of the NBA, especially for players who are like Stauskus, is finding the right fit right from the start. Getting drafted by the Kings was terrible for him because the franchise has proven that they won’t help develop players. Duncan found the perfect fit for him and his skill set in Miami.

I don’t know what a G League salary is but Simpson is one of the best fits at that level, what they call a 4A player in baseball. I hope he is having fun

About $37,000 per year per NY Times.

…I swear to god if Hunter doesn’t come back next year…

FWIW, I believe a 2-way is closer to 500k.

Yep 462k nonguaranteed

Think you can also get a bonus if you sign an Exhibit 10 deal in training camp and then sign with the team’s G League affiliate. I believe that’s what Walton did.

Do we have ANY idea how much money these guys are making via NIL? Or just not that much information out there at this point?

Students have to disclose NIL activity to the school, but I don’t know if that means systematic disclosure via public records requests to find out how much they are/can make. One guy to maybe ask/watch on this is Michael Spath, who is teaching an NIL course and I think starting up a podcast about it.

Exhibit 10s are worth $50K?

I think it’s up to $50K (if you play 60 days with the team.) And I’m not sure if it’s in addition to a G-League salary or whether it is the salary.

"Let’s say an undrafted rookie signs an Exhibit 10 contract with the Knicks that includes a $50K bonus. He attends camp with the Knicks, but is waived before the regular season begins, with New York designating him an affiliate player in order to retain his G League rights. In that scenario, if the rookie elects to play in the G League for the Westchester Knicks and remains with the club for 60 days, he’d be entitled to his full $50K bonus.

The player wouldn’t receive that bonus if he opts to sign with a team overseas after being waived by the Knicks. Essentially, the Exhibit 10 bonus serves as an incentive for players to stick with their team’s G League affiliate — they must spend at least 60 days with the NBAGL club in order to get their bonus."
