I’m guessing this would eliminate MSU from landing Sochan. He says he will still plan for college but with MSU in a scholarship crunch I’m guessing this makes it easier for them to not pursue him further.

Stephens has had opportunities at smaller mid majors, but hes holding out for a high-mid or high job, or for Izzo to retire. Also the current situation is that top high major assistants make much more than most mid major head coaches.
And have a lot more job stability.
