I know he has, but it’s the overall feeling of really long running purgatory that seals the parallel for me.
The rules are still fluid, but all based on the tape loop that he uses for his broadcasts:
- Use of “I see you, young fella [or by name]”
- Harkening back to his playing days (read: the glory days of basketball0
- Use of “In my opinon…”
- Use of “Now you young kids watching need to pay attention because … (blah blah blah)”
- Any commentary on a player’s hair and how he’d look versus his broadcast partner donning it.

I’ve just never understood why Gabe Brown isn’t a 30 minute guy. Most engaged player on team and a solid floor spacer.
His energy alone is contagious to everyone. His defensive shortcomings are overblown on that team.
Izzy has mucked his career over good.

A few big three’s here for Minnesota are keeping them close.
On one hand Minnesota’s only down 5 despite giving up 52% shooting, 60% from 3, no points from Robbins and 2 fouls on Carr and Mashburn.
On the other hand Minnesota is shooting 80% from 3 and Ayo only has 4. Feels like Minnesota is staying in this with some smoke and mirrors and the flood gates are about to open for Illinois.

Eli will guard Frazier so I’m not terribly worried about that. Dosunmu is a tough matchup for us though

I would consider having Brown guard him hard when he’s in. Create stress/energy dissipation.
The number of transition points Minnesota has given up is crazy.
