I’m not really too upset by this. Obviously it’s hilarious to see MSU lose, but they’re not making the tourney still so in the grand scheme of things this didn’t matter. I’m more upset that Archie might be gone now/choked away a chance to get another B1G team in the tourney.
Semi-relatedly I’m watching UK-UT right now on CBS and when going over the struggling blue bloods CBS showed MSU’s record at 10-10, meaning they just assumed a loss to Indiana.
I got dinged for using a word I never thought was verboten (it linked this sparty team and things you might find in a toilet )
But sparty’s impressive performance… really
Seemed a lot more like IU completely throwing the game away. My only complaint about the otherwise enjoyable pod is that I think it is way too forgiving of a bad MSU team.
IU was literally like, oh, there are like two or three things you do competently? Please, let us set that up for you
I find myself hoping that Sparty loses so much down the stretch that their entire season comes down to the two games vs Michigan.
Of course, I am also hoping that Michigan absolutely pounds them in those two games to take away anything for that program and fan base that they could consider success this season.
I think there is a realistic path to the tournament for MSU now. They could take Indiana’s spot if they beat them again. MSU has six games left. Four are at home and the two roads are Maryland and Michigan.
The silence from national media types about the failures of archie miller is something, clearly did a great job becoming buddy buddy with those types. National CBB media types get way too close to some of these coaches.
For IU fans this must be excruciating. They led for pretty much all of the first 30 minutes and then just plain folded down the stretch, at home, against a 4-9 conference team, when their tourney bid was not at all secure.
