I think the bigger thing playing more games condensed isn’t fatigue but that you don’t get as much time to implement and practice certain game plans.

That would be huge for Michigan. Out of all the players who I would prefer to stay an extra year, it’s Mike Smith. He’ll stabilize the PG position while giving Zeb and Frankie a chance to get acclimated into the position before one of them takes over in 2022-2023 season

I know it’s not an either or because he wouldn’t take up a scholarship, but if given the choice I’d take a year of Mike Smith over two years of Bediako.

It might play the other way around. Rutgers’ physicality might allow Michigan to pick up where it left off, as opposed to needing time to adjust to OSU’s aggressive stylings. Can’t get down by a significant margin early.

To be clear, I was saying don’t just assume Zeb will get passed by Bufkin (wasn’t even referencing Smith.) I think Bufkin will be really good but can’t guarantee it will be right away until we actually see it.

Don’t have a Rivals account but Balas says in a response the other game is Illinois. Not sure if any info in here is new, or if there’s news on a game on the 23rd.

Really? That’d be absolutely shocking. Putting Michigan’s 3 toughest game of the season in a 5 day span when NW is easily available on the 23rd makes no sense to me.

Guessing we are moving Iowa up to setup a showdown with Illinois the following week. Would get us to 17 big ten games. I think that’s the right number

Yes, I’m saying that. When you’re in first place and a projected 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, you want to get to the finish line with as few losses as possible. Anyone in their right mind would rather play NW than add an extra Iowa game. Not because Iowa is the boogey man, but because NW sucks and is an easy win
