He’s never finished worse than .500 in conference play. I don’t see a path to .500. They’ll be fortunate not to finish below .500 overall.
23/31 from the line and still only .88 PPP
I just noticed that Kenpom has us playing @northwestern on Feb 3rd. That definitely wasn’t there before. Is it just an error?
Probably. That would be a great makeup opportunity but I doubt Mr. Kenneth Pomeroy of Kenneth Pomeroy dot com would get the inside scoop on a reschedule
I don’t know, would Kenneth Pomeroy of KemPom.com just randomly put just any game in his Kenpom ranking formula? His Kenpom connections must be giving him inside tips for our Kenpom team schedule. (On Kenpom.com.)
Pretty sure that’s just the originally scheduled game.
Yeah, it just wasn’t there before. Probably just a bug that reuploaded it as it originally was.
let’s schedule a Toledo rematch and boost our SOS
Yeah, that looks about impossible right now. Obviously a lot of unknowns yet with scheduling but if they manage to get in all 20 games, they would have to finish 8-4 against a schedule that includes Iowa x2, Michigan x2, OSU, Illinois, plus Indiana x2 and a return trip to Purdue. I don’t see how it’s possible they’ll lose fewer than five times in those nine games.
This feels like the equivalent of Michigan in 14-15. Coming off a Finals appearance and a Big Ten championship in successive years to out of the tournament.
MSU has made 33 FGs in its last 80 minutes of play.
Maybe this is a perfect comparison and I am just blindly defensive, but that Michigan team lost 3 NBA draft picks (to MSU’s 2) plus an all-time glue starter in Just JMo. Then when the season actually got underway, Zak Irvin and Kam Chatman were the only two players to play the whole season. If anything MSU has a bonus contributor with the resurrection of Josh Langford.
Well…except that Michigan was without it’s best player in future NBA starter Caris Levert most of the year and their second best player in fringe NBA roster guy Derrick Walton. MSU has their full team. And many of them are highly regarded recruits.
Watts, Henry, and Hauser were obviously over rated before the season, but they aren’t this bad. That three should still make up a solid core but they are clearly a mess.
To be fair, how could Tom Izzo have ever expected four-year starter Cassius Winston to graduate and leave the program after last season? How selfish of him to leave the program in such a dire spot before he put in his full 6 years of service.
Tillman wasn’t ready for the nba, where he’s now started multiple games. Needed to come back and work on his shot. That betrayal blindsided Izzo
I thought that Michigan team actually competed pretty hard, it was just outmanned with LeVert and Walton both out. Wasn’t that the year we kept losing in overtime?
That team was also 6-5 before any injuries hit with losses to NJIT and EMU.
despite all the issues they managed to go 8-10 in Big Ten play. And that was including 3 losses in OT and a 4th in double OT.
We might need to have a talk about MSU just not being good. OSU is rising up it seems no true big but a lot of interchangeable parts. I like them moving forward.
