Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

Announcers just talked about how the lack of practice made it hard to teach Watts how to be a PG. Total BS excuse.

Another interesting sub plot with MSU is whether they make any staff changes this off season. Like their roster, their staff has been really stable and Izzo hasn’t made a lot of changes there. Will be interesting to see if anything changes.

Spero and Raf doing everything they can to make this game seem still winnable for MSU.

Of course I say this and some sloppy play by OSU makes it a nine point deficit.

Izzo just mouthing at Henry “Did you foul him?” Pretty sure it was a rhetorical question since a foul was called, but man Izzo is in top form for GIF-able moments today.

It took me two minutes to remember who Brown was.

Izzo has that same problem.

I understand why MSUs offense is clunky this year. Watts struggling, Henry a great secondary guy but not primary scorer, no big with any offensive game, etc.

I am more surprised that their defensive fundamentals are so bad. They don’t even seem to have a plan.

It’s been like 20 minutes of real time for the past minute of game time

Too much reffing this game. 46 fouls so far

Veteran play by Langford there.

Kyle Young with a “look what I found” bucket.

I’m not in the the joke I guess, I can’t believe they’re actually reviewing this lmao

Yeah, and a minute later he has a bit of a fast break and takes an 18-foot two pointer. What are you thinking?? Drive hard it dribble back a foot. Geez.

Another day, another game in which no MSU player with more than 2 shots hits 50% from the field.

Is it Steven Izzo Time?!

Watts is broken. Two uncontested layups missed in the final minute

Watts wrecked the symmetry – until that shot (“shot”), he and Henry were both 2-8 from the field.

So, we’re probably looking at a 4 seed for Duke and a 5 seed for Sparty?

This team just isn’t good. I’m not really sure what buttons Izzo has to push.

MSU might not make the NIT at this point (if there is one.)

It was. Right before he rhetorically asked, “Did you foul him,” he also rhetorically asked, “Do you want to come out?” and then I believe he said, “come here,” when Henry kept talking he said, “Did you foul him?” I’ll be honest, I’ve had some of those conversations with players. It’s like, “Damn it, you fouled the kid, now just shut up and play basketball or you’re coming out,” but the nice version!
