Bacari Alexander is a candidate at UW-Green Bay

Green Bay candidates include assistant Brian Barone and former UNC and in-state high school star Joe Wolf, sources told ESPN. More Green Bay candidates: Xavier assistant Travis Steele and Michigan assistant Bacari Alexander, source told ESPN.

Say no to nepotism. Even if Pat B is a qualified candidate, it just looks bad to hire your son. I don't like that Harbaugh did it, it bit Paterno in the @$$ and it bit Bowden in the @$$. It's a lot of extra baggage that equally qualified candidates don't bring.

Worked OK for Tony Bennett.

I’m not saying these are equivalent candidates, simply that we should only consider the candidate’s qualifications, not whether they are or are not related to the current coach.

In this case, I would personally prefer someone with a track record of coaching bigs, that can also be a plus recruiter.

Would be a big loss but Bacari deserves a chance as the head guy. As a replacement Patrick Beilein is the obvious choice but the replacement would have to have in state ties since Bacari is the only one.

My ideal replacement even though it would never happen is Juwan Howard, is coaching with the Heat could take over the big men and have some pull on the recruiting trail.

It only looks bad if he is incapable of doing the job. I can’t see Patrick replacing BA as I’m assuming he has little experience working with bigs. Made a little more sense if Meyer had departed.

I know it wouldn’t happen but I’d like to see LaVall get the “Associate Head Coach” tag.

I’ll take it a step further, I’d like to see Jordan get the Head Coach tag in the near future.

Put me distinctly in the camp of wanting to see Beilein be head coach of Michigan for as long as possible. That said, I do want Jordan to be the Michigan head coach down the line, ideally right after Beilein retires if that works out for all those involved.

I’m ok with that as well…just don’t know if Jordan will wait that long considering he’s flirted with other HC gigs recently. I just think Jordan would be the perfect replacement for JB without going through the growing pains of a transition to an entirely different system/culture. I’m sure Jordan would have some tweaks, but not total transformation.

Can’t link right now, but saw a tweet from Goodman saying that Bacari was did not get/accept the position.

Too bad i was actually hoping to see him go … Just been a really big fan of his work in last couple of years …
