I KNOW!! That is why I am so completely dumbfounded and it’s like stressing me out, lol!

Nothing like extrapolating off one game.

Idk man… my girlfriend went there and I’ve stayed in Spokane many times. It’s a really cool and underrated place, as well as brand. Their presence isn’t nothing. I don’t think they’ll struggle per se. but compared to brands like Michigan, Duke, UCLA, its gonna be tough. They just aren’t on that level. Not even close. Also, their games being buried on TV due to their weak schedule won’t help.

One Cronin is not enough…Cronin’s Cronies…“Cronin” the verb

I keep on waiting for the reveal that Cronin’s dad is some war hero or Nobel Prize winner or something, but nope. The obsession with him is completely based on the fact that Cronin indeed does have a dad. Whew, I was concerned.

That’s absurd. It’s an elite eight game after all

They got Suggs. They’re getting Sallis and Chet for next season. Gonzaga is finally reeling in blue chip talents which makes them a scarier team for years to come now that Few is pulling in elite talents.

Will he be the first coach that has ever had a dad attend an Elite 8 game?

Sure, they’re not Duke or UCLA. But they might well be in the next tier. Unless UW is going to start taking basketball seriously, for pretty much the first time ever, they’ve got a good chance to capitalize on the Seattle media market, and that might be enough.

Gonzaga’s brand is at least as strong as MSU’s…

Few pulling a Coach K in the pacific northwest. Building a monster from nothing

Maybe the fascination is mask-based? Mick’s looks like it was either designed for a child or stolen from a male dancer and his dad’s is often barely covering his mouth.

Mobley is probably in the same boat as Diabete because he lacks the strength and weight to battle against the 5s in the NBA but his tools are super intriguing though. NBA draft based on potential so that’s why Mobley is super high on the draft board

 I suppose I haven’t publicly stated it except for a couple weeks ago when I asked who Mobley’s game was supposed to compare to. But this is definitely not extrapolating from one game.

Suggs seems like a star to me. Mobley seems like a commodity that will make your team good. As a Pistons fan, I want the star.

Duke was in the Final Four two years before Coach K got there in 1980 and went three times in the 60s.

Gonzaga is the outlier in terms of building up a national power from obscurity. Coach K has the benefit of being in the ACC but Gonzaga has nothing. Gonzaga was this close to moving down to D3 athletics before the NCAA tournament run under Monson. Monson leaving and Gonzaga hiring Few was a risky move but bold. Now, Few has built a monster that he will never leave Gonzaga

Can’t go too far with that Mobley is 7 foot and dominated both ends as a freshman. Can possibly be a switchable big which is more valuable than being able to bang down low

That’s a big reason why he’s projected so high in the draft. He has tools to be a great offensive player. Showed shooting stroke in flashes.

We’re going to see the same thing with Diabete next year. That’s going to be a preview of what’s to come. Flashes of dominance but will frustrate you because he can do so much more. At the very least, he’ll be a great defensive player

I am dumbfounded that this is normally a good defense.

How close was Michigan on Drew Timme? I remembered him as a recruiting target for John Beilein. Did Michigan have a chance at landing Timme?

I guess I don’t see the Diabate comparison. Mobley is #3 in the KenPom POY. He’s been plenty productive and is a far better prospect than Diabate
