Um, Jon Teske?
Um, Jon Teske?
You think Teske is athletic? No doubt Teske has good lateral agility and runs the floor well for a kid that size, but is VERY challenged vertically and from a strength standpoint. Traditionally, when we think of atheltic bigs, I think most people associate verticality/shot blocking in terms of athleticism. Just my take
Exactly what Mattd says Teske is long but he is not athletic. Maceo Baston and Marcus Camby is what I consider long and athletic.Um, Jon Teske? You think Teske is athletic? I know UM had interest at one point. Wonder if we give Sina a look if we strike out with our 16 PG targets. From a statistical standpoint, looks to be a Stu Douglass clone
Seton Hall officially confirms that Jaren Sina is leaving the program. "Mutually agreed to part ways."

Sam is as bad at basketball recruiting as he is good at football

Sina is even less of a PG than Murray.

I agree with Sina not being a PG, but when is the last time we had a true PF? I guess my point is, contrary to what the coaches say regarding “your position is who you can guard”, the reality is the coaches are going to put the best shooters on the floor in most cases.

Brian Bowen looked awesome last night in victory over Saginaw. Fluid, smooth, in complete control of his game. Believe he had close to 30, in a free-flowing game. He isn’t super explosive, but he has a very good handle and gets where he wants to go. Probably should temper any enthusiasm, as it will be next to impossible to get him away from Izzo.
Thornton visiting in April per Bogie at Scout.
Took my obligatory trip to Breslin yesterday with the in-laws and saw a great game. Needless to say, Winston was there ( AGAIN ) looking all excited and involved. He certainly has seen his share of M and State games live.
Saw Winston in attendance vs Syracuse, didn’t display much emotion at all despite the back and forth nature of the game. However, it did appear he was quite fond of the nachos.
DT working out at Duke as if he’s already a member of the team. To think that we nearly had a commitment from him, and now we are most likely an afterthought in the span of 2-3 months is frustrating
Always working! RT @ArmstrongABC11: 2016 PG Derryck Thornton on an unofficial visit -- working out at Cameron. https://t.co/8vMS0YRXEc

While Duke and UK are considered to be the leaders, I think there’s a good chance he ends up elsewhere. Dennis Smith is also at Duke for tonight’s game, and both players aren’t going to Duke. At UK, Ulis is probably a 4-year player, and there is at least the possibility that Briscoe isn’t one-and-done.
I read somewhere that Thornton is planning to visit Michigan in April, so it seems like we are at least trying to rekindle the relationship. I don’t think we’ll land him, but if he doesn’t go to UK or Duke, I’d have to think we have a small chance.
Has it been confirmed Thornton is going to visit? Hope we are still after Ramsey, not very confident with Winston either.
Also any idea what weekend Jaylen Brown is visiting?
I was gonna say, no way Thornton goes to Duke if Smith goes.
Thornton on Duke
“Coming into the visit, you have a thought of what it might be like,” Thornton Sr. said, “But it’s not what you think, it’s even better. The pros they have and the education side, having coach so close, and being able to sit down with Coach K, who relates so well with the players and the parents.”
Thornton Jr. identified Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, California, Miami, and Michigan as the schools he’s most serious about at the moment, and Duke became the second of those to inquire about the possibility of a reclassification.
“They want to know if I would consider going to the class of 2015 because Tyus Jones could be leaving,” Thornton Jr. said. “I believe I could take that step both academically and on the court. It’s something I definitely have to think about and discuss with my family.”
What an incredible game for hosting a bunch of high-profile recruits.
If Jones goes pro, Duke would really need to get Thornton for next year. Even if they do, they’re going to be very thin again. If they lose Okafor, Winslow, Jones, and Cook, who’s a senior, they’ll be returning 4 scholarship players. They already have Jeter and Kennard committed and could add Swanigan and Brandon Ingram, too. Other than Thornton, if he reclassifies, I don’t think they’re in on any more high-level '15 recruits, are they? Duke could be in a bit of trouble next year if they miss on any or all of the 3 uncommitted guys.
And if they are shorthanded, I will cry a single solitary tear of sympathy for them.
Heck, according to Bilas, they’re shorthanded this year.
Been pretty clear that the early interest in Dennis Smith never went anywhere, but…
Dennis Smith Jr (@Jhooper_3) tells ESPN he’s looking at seven schools: Duke, UNC, Ohio St, Kansas, Wake Forest, N.C. State and Miami.https://twitter.com/BLUEChip_Miller/status/568591844864434176
