Tim Hardaway Jr has been invited to be a part of the USA Basketball select team

Oh it’s not even a question, Hardaway was phenomenal in transition last year. I watched a good number of Knicks games last year, and at least once a game he was a 1 man fast break and would make shots that were pretty difficult look fairly easy.

Not only did he finish but he was one of the few Knick’s who would fill the lane. Not many guys on that roster would run or put in the effort. Lets slow the game down and give it to Mello…

Melo is probably the best pure scorer in basketball - he is a dominant scorer from every area on the court. Ball stops way too much with him though, has the ability to make teammates better but fails to do so. Has the ability to average double digit rebounds but doesn’t. THJ does not benefit from playing with Melo in actual game settings, but playing against him in practice must help THJ by default.

I’d rather be THJR in NY than Stauskas in SAC, just looking at the rosters.

how THJr will adjust to the triangle offense would be interesting to watch

From a winning perspective, I’d agree. From an opportunity standpoint I would say Nik has the more favorable situation. Nik has a much stronger chance of breaking into the starting lineup…with McLemore as the only barrier. THJ has to deal with a proven player in JR Smith and a defensive specialist in Shumpert.

As long as PJ is in NY THJ should be just fine. He’s always preferred big guards in the triangle, Ron Harper in both Chi and LA

Even if Nik starts, he won’t get any shots or run PnR.

Yeah, Rudy and Cousins eat into a lot of opportunity

And Marshon Brooks and Derrick Williams and McLeMore and Acy. No ball movement, anti-Spurs lol

plus McCallum is so damn ball-dominant. And if they add Josh Smith…

Just bad roster building…

Couldn’t agree more about Melo, though the harder Tim plays the better he looks on a lackluster Knicks team. He earned his minutes last year and was a good spark off the bench, one of the few positives on a poor knick team. This year might be different now that Jackson is calling the shots, he will demand defensive accountability.

Looks like the Knicks want THJ to move into a starting role:
