During the interview with McCormick, Wilson shared a little anecdote about Beilein that shows a fiery personality behind a calm demeanor in public. While it’s shown itself many times throughout his tenure in Ann Arbor, Wilson shared what it’s like to be on the receiving end of Beilein’s ire when things weren’t going as planned.
“We were in Indiana and Wisconsin,” Wilson said. “At Indiana, he threw a trashcan at halftime across the locker room. Wisconsin, I think it was during halftime, we had to take our jerseys off because he said that we weren’t doing the school justice and we don’t deserve to wear that Block M across our chest. We put them on towards the end of halftime. I think we ended up winning that game. Those are a couple of moments that stick out.”

You know the turnovers would be killing him but this is Juwan’s team now.
I’m sure he’d have been in the hands-on-head Duncan-Robinson-wide-open-for-3 pose from last week after about half of those turnovers.

It was probably a little early for post-mortems for a twenty-year-old kid a few months removed from college, but I did have some worries that life under the magnifying glass on a team in the midst of such struggle could have lasting hobbling effects. OTOH, if he begins to string together lots of successes this could prove an incredible trial-by-fire boost to his career.

I agree, JP is young and has tons of upside. He needs to find his game in the NBA. My biggest concern is consistency but that should come in time. He’s not ready for the NBA game but is fortunate to get the minutes. He can be a great CNS guard IMO.
