Anyone think Duncan gets in the 3point challenge this year?

That would be awesome! But probably tough. A lot of really good players want to be in that competition, unlike the slam dunk contest…

Moe is shooting 52% from 3 on the season. Get him and Duncan in there!

Poll: what was more impressive - Duncan’s 29 point performance or Moe’s 30 point performance? Which one was more surprising?

More impressive

    1. Duncan Robinson’s 29 point performance (9 threes)
    1. Moe Wagner’s 30 point performance (with 15 rebounds)

Moe’s shooting splits are pretty ridiculous. 63% FG’s, 51.6% 3P and 80.8% FT’s. True shooting of 74% which is first in the league. Now if he could stop committing 7.5 PF’s per 36 mins, he could actually play more. The Wizards actually have the # 2 ranked offense in the NBA.

I had no idea we could create polls on here

I’m delighted for Robinson, but I feel like it is not that surprising that a 6-8 elite shooter looks like he’ll stick in the league. I know the first thing said about him is always “D3 transfer”, but IMO that height/skill combo is more determinitive than where he started.

The largest knock on him has always been “athleticism” but with how much understanding of muscle fibers has changed and expanded in recent years and how effective trainers have been making good candidates more “athletic” by the correct type of training, he becomes more of intriguing of a prospect. You can’t train someone to be taller or have longer arms, but you can train quickness and bunnies.

I just realized the Michigan “Not just a shooter!” label from TV commentators that went from Stauskas to Robinson to Poole is now vacant. Hopefully either Nunez or Bajema will be the next to carry the torch!

Franz is the obvious choice

I don’t think he’ll ever be labeled “just a shooter.” I think the prerequisite is to have a season where that’s basically all you do.

Or is the prerequisite that you have to be white? Poole kind of kills that but I also feel like announcers didn’t say it nearly as much with him as they did with Stauskas and Robinson

ESPN piece on Moe Wagner the ex-Laker

Couple nice tidbits in there.

One upside of seeking contact: Wagner leads the league in charges drawn.

And classic Moe.

Wagner might also be the leagues’ cheeriest teammate. Basket mics constantly pick him up shouting encouragement at teammates. I would purchase a Moe Wagner Encouragement app that reinforced positive life behaviors: “You are killing it on the treadmill, Zach! Great job ordering salad instead of fries! You’re taking a lot of steps today, Zach! Keep it up!”
