Michigan Players in the NBA

Watching the exact same offensive actions is eerie

I dunno, man. Anything derisive about Jordan Poole said at this stage has to be muttered through a heaping mouthful of crow. I mean, he looks freaking great out there.

Some people REALLY let their dislike of people get in the way of judgements about their prowess and potential. Obviously there are many years and games to come, but this has been the all-time acid test. Just a little humility is pretty much always a good idea when weā€™re making these calls.

P.S. Doesnā€™t Caris just have an amazing head for the game? That break in the second shot featured is a thing of beauty.

Poole thing is pretty simple for me. I said all of last year that he had by far the best NBA skillset on Michiganā€™s roster and his game fits the NBA game. He also played very poorly over the last few months of the season. The fact that we saw how good he could play in good moments just made that more disappointing.

I wasnā€™t being negative. Poole isnā€™t afraid to shoot. That was the point of my statement

Caris is the real deal and he can run the point. It will be interesting to see how his game meshes with Kyrie.

Yep. The dynamic between Poole and Beilein became too strained. And for a good shooter, thereā€™s only a certain amount of times you can say ā€œalright now here we goā€ and keep shooting poorly before you start to believe it yourself. Given that heā€™s only a kid last year was tough to watch because you knew every game was the game he thought heā€™d get it going and he just couldnā€™t break out of it

GRIII making his moveā€¦

Iā€™m not gonna letting Beliene off the hook as it was his responsibility to get out Jordan Poole what he got out of Nik Stauskas. Mich did not and or could not run the offense through Poole more often because Simpson was a liability as a shooter. Stauskas had Derrick Walton. As good as Simpson is that is his Achilles heel.

Simpson played a part, but I think it was a lot more complicated than that given that Poole just stopped making shots (open shots, guarded shots, tough shots, easy shots).

Simpson was ball dominant, yes, but every other player who relied on him to create for them (Iggy, Teske) was very efficient with their opportunities to play off of him.

So now that Poole has proven he belongs in the NBA, it is no longer OK to wish he would have more-closely guarded Matt McQuaid?

Maybe we can just look ahead to a college hoops season that doesnā€™t have Jordan Poole or Matt McQuaid.

JP accomplished his goal, heā€™s in the league with guaranteed money. I canā€™t fault the kid for anything that happened at school, heā€™s a kid trying to find his way. His only goal was the NBAā€¦he did that, good for him!

Other people have said this but itā€™s so weird to see Beilein on the sideline for an NBA game and all the actions Iā€™ve grown accustomed to being run by professionals

40 years of M basketball as a student and Alum, and I really donā€™t remember a whole lot about the games any more. But, there is one shot that I will never forget. Thank you JP!

Nope. Thatā€™s the finest golf swing Iā€™ve seen in a while. (To be fair, Iā€™ve not seen Z or Teske or Juwan do it, which seems material to the discussion)

Probably trying to hit a 4 iron and it looks like a lob wedge proportionally.
