Is Oakland still in play?

“Starting HOF shooting guard on the downward slope of his career somewhat resistant to ceding ground to younger backup” doesn’t strike me as that huge a scoop tbh

it does strike me as an interesting basis upon which to make a decision, though?

I tend to think the bigger factor was “second best player hates Poole enough to commit felony assault against him”

And the rest of the team/org didn’t like Poole enough to stand up for him when it happened.

I sort of agree

I think they made the amoral basketball decision that keeping Draymond happy would drive wins more than Poole. Again - I think their choice is basically reprehensible, but also kind of correct (in basketball terms)

yeah, and i think it’s a pretty easy calculus for tim kawakami or his sources to be like “everyone blames this guy who’s still on the team, but have you considered also blaming this guy who’s no longer on the team and we no longer have to see in the locker room?”

Also Klay left GS in a cloud of ill will (he is still super vocally bitter they didn’t give him another contract, feels it diminishes his contribution to the franchise) - so yeah, super easy target

Klay also basically repurposed Chris Rock’s old “Now I’d never hit a woman, but I can understand” routine in defense of Green at the time

Kinda his own fault, they did offer before the season, about $50 mil for 2 yrs which he declined. (Then after the season he came back and asked for similar and they were like nah we’re good.)

Klay didn’t hurt him.

Really no wonder these Euro teams play so much better together than the US, they play literally every summer.

WC, Euros, Olympics. 3/4 years. Some of the teams probably have something in the other year too

I don’t think the top-level, NBA guys are always there though. They mostly come for the Olympics and Eurobasket.

No not always, but I know Franz did all 3. And even if they take a summer off it’s still a more consistent team and plugging in a couple guys each summer is not hard when you already have a cohesive system.

If playing in it hurts Franz work with whatever shot-doctor he hopefully is working with 8 hours a day, don’t do it. If it allows him to break out his fixed shot where he will hit 33-37% of his threes…go ahead.

Jordan Poole on the move.

I think it makes a ton of sense for Washington and nearly none for New Orleans and that’s not Poole-shade

How many balls do they need for Poole/Murphy/Murray/Zion

These are all shoot first dudes!

Looks like Diabate made the French National team for the Eurobasket. Wemby and Goebert aren’t participating. It’s interesting that Bilal Coulibaly isn’t on the team as well.
