ugh, I loved him in it because he was one of my favorite players. That homophobic incident destroyed any love I had for him. He’s still young so hopefully he can make ammends.
His bullfighter trash talk line is really good though (and good delivery)
Ant Edwards was great in that.
Stole this from another message board
What did Poole say to draymond that made him throw a punch?
“TuCk CoMiN”
I am not surprised, but its concerning that Kerr and a big chunk of the NBA folks are like “well the video never should’ve come out” as that’s the lesson to be learned from all of this.
Not that, you know, no matter what the circumstances are, its never alright to punch someone else in a place of employment.
Kerr famously was punched in the face by Jordan and kept it quiet on the way to a title.
Yeah, exactly. And Dames comments about pushing leading to punching might be true in a random encounter in a bar or dark alley…not in a sporting event or place of business. Everyone in every sport knows that a push is rarely going to get you more than a foul…it is meant to create space. A full haymaker is intended to do serious harm. In a sporting event that’s an immediate ejection and likely suspension. So not sure how Poole is “supposed to know to be ready for a punch” from a teammate in practice!!
Yeah this seems to be a qualifier here for people who defend this garbage. “Kerr was hit by one of the biggest a_ssholes in the game but they won so it was ok.” Like I guess I don’t like sports enough to excuse behavior like this.
Totally agreed. Its his teammate, if he gets in your face, its one thing to push someone out of it. Don’t know why that means you should just then expect to get clocked. Like you said, maybe if its some drunk idiot at a bar but you would think a relationship with your teammate would be a bit different. But this is Draymond we are talking about, he is unbelievably petty.
I don’t think that’s what is meant. But you have to assume Kerr himself is well versed in all of the dynamics surrounding it, what it means, etc. And it’s not like Kerr is an old school hard-@ss type, quite the opposite.
I wasn’t saying Kerr is right, I was stating a fact that may lend him a perspective you (and I) don’t share.
Triple …single
JP just putting his head down and getting buckets tonight. 25-4-6 in 23 mins.
Bag alert, major bag alert!
He saw the money that Herro got and that’s the baseline for Poole for contract negotiation.
Adding to this. That’s also a wild justification for someone getting punched in the face! Like, ok if I’m in a bar and someone gets in my face, I push them away and get decked. In what world is that my fault?
As if I’d go to court over it and the judge would be like “well, you really should’ve had your hands up” lol.
As far as the Jordan anecdote is concerned. I’m sorry but you can practice basketball and be good at it or whatever without throwing hands. Just the dumbest macho nonsense.
Poole’s drunken master style, expert ball handling is something I never saw coming no matter how many times people will try to convince me that was part of his game in college.
Yup, if Herro is going for that much the sky is the limit for Poole
its wild that jordan poole was the 6th man on la lumiere
I never said that Jordan hitting people was ok!
I said Kerr has been in Poole’s situation and chose to keep it silent.
This likely informs anything he says today.
Yeah I totally get that. Not trying to pin that on you by any means. Just think if that’s his reason, it’s a bad one.
Getting upset the video got out is, like, classic covering-up-for-members-of-the-special-club crap. Don’t think that’s a good environment, and it’s a great way to encourage this kind of… whatever this is. Abuse? Assault? Bad behavior?
And I mean I get it. The video is embarrassing. Mostly, I think, for Draymond. People who respect him are naturally going to be uncomfortable with that for a lot of reasons. End of the day though, you probably shouldn’t knock a guy out in practice, and embarrassment is probably the least he deserves.
It is an interesting side point in this incident. However, when it happened to Kerr there wasn’t the 24-7 media coverage and social media presence there is today. There were also, sadly, too many “behind closed doors” stories that didn’t come to light but should have.
LOL, wonder if anyone have used this to describe basketball moves before?
