Michigan Players in the NBA

Both Levert and Hardaway with real nice statlines tonight:
Levert: 36/4/5 on 14/24 fg (5/9 3s)
Hardaway: 42 points on 13/23 fg (6/10 3s)

And DJ has 15 and 11 in 20 minutes against his old team.

Hardaway did great work preserving the Pistons’ tank when Detroit’s 19 year old center started bombing threes late.

And Trey Burke with 15 points of his own in the game.

It seems like he legitimately became a much better athlete after leaving Michigan though. He had a poster dunk in summer league IIRC.

Made a decision to think that Livers will be in the NBA this season despite his injury and thus posting this here…

How does one shoot this consistently from a chair!?!

I know it’s a drill that Micah Lancaster has players do, especially when mobility is limited, and Livers has worked with him.

Not bad, Duncan.

Poole had 17 points on 5/12 shooting and 6 assists to 1 turnover today in a blowout win over the horrible Rockets.

That was a huge win for the Magic in terms of the Pistons tank. Thank you thank you thank you, Moe.

Orlando has him playing PF whereas others have played him as a 5.

Had a big three to tie it late. Great win… for the Pistons.

Yeah…I think when we consider that an NBA team plays Mo, who has a hard time moving enough laterally to play the 5, at the 4, that it’s a team heavily invested in the race for lottery odds. Credit to him for making the shots and stuff, and I think Clifford is a very competent coach, which is more than I can say for Scottie Brooks…so maybe there is something. But I don’t know.

Duncan, From D3 to the BANK! Happy for this young man!

Not perfect at 4, but better fit than 5 where he was physically overmatched. Only one game, but let’s see where this goes. He has not had extended minutes very often this season as he’s bounced around the league. He looked completely lost with Boston.

He’s going to get $100 million contract. If Bertans got $85 mil, then Duncan should be getting his contract at minimum.

That depends on a few things though - for one, Bertans was clearly overpaid by a bad front office (the Heat are not a bad front office).

I also don’t think it’s a given the Heat re-sign him if he’s heavily bid up - this is a franchise and market that goes star hunting above all else, and the clock is ticking on their best player. If the Heat don’t sign him, he can’t get a 5th year, and if the Heat go after bigger fish, that has a tendency to drop the other offers, as teams don’t need to over higher annual salary to combat the fifth year.

Finally, it’s worth noting that Bertans’ contract isn’t REALLY 5 years/$80 million. The fifth year is contingent on him playing 85% of the game the first four years. He’s already had some injuries, the Wizards aren’t very good and don’t figure to be good, so that games played metric can get…messed around with.

I think a contract at Bertans level is my expectation.
