TBH- I don’t know anything about Michigan Lacrosse but this seems like a big get:

I’m not in the know on what Michigan lacrosse fans think about the current coach but man we should pursue the UVA coach who was let go. Dude has won 2 natties in the last 8 years.

This may have nothing to do with Michigan but you never know. She’s from Texas so if I had to bet, I’d say that she’ll probably stay in the South:

That’s a bummer, though the Twitter guy may be wrong about how much of an NIL budget the baseball team has.

Right I imagine the NIL for baseball isn’t where it needs to be and probably not get to the level to retain elite players.

Current outgoing for softball. I’m not surprised about Dircks, as she never was a regular player in her two years.

As for Vallimont, I didn’t realize that she still had eligibility left. I’m guessing this is a Grad Transfer situation. She’ll be a nice addition for wherever she lands.

As for their incoming transfer, Schwartz is currently ranked the #65 best player in the portal.

Vallimont will be playing her grad year at Duke.

This dude is delusional, um cares about mens and womens basketball, football and hockey. The rest of the sports are moreso just dont embarrass us under warde.

I had a convo fairly recently with a non-Michigan-affiliated contact who was sharing what a former Michigan non-revenue sport athlete told her, which was that it was a calculated decision by the AD to focus on exactly the sports you listed as the front door sports in the NIL era. The hope was that success in those sports would spur greater investment across the board.

Yeah brandon spent like a madman on non rev sports and had a quick trigger on coaching changes. Its completely changed under warde, its 100% dont embarass us and we wont make changes until contracts expire.

Looks like Michigan Softball got another player in the portal to commit today.

13 home runs in 2026, played right field this year and 1st base last year for Idaho State. They won their conference championship this year.

On paper, seems like a really good get! Love the versatility!

Now THIS is interesting :eyes:

Michigan just picked up 2 players in the transfer portal! The Zache sisters from….the Oklahoma Sooners!

Sounds like Berkley was a relief pitcher but did get some action, including in the NCAA regionals. Riley is coming off a redshirt year due to an injury but seems like she had a promising 2025.

Either way, if they were good enough to get recruited by Oklahoma, I’m in! And it’s a homecoming of sorts for these two, as they’re from Niles, MI.

Welcome ladies!

Oh, YEAH!!!

Yeah, I’d mentioned them a few weeks ago but figured that it was still a longshot that they’d come north. Where it seemed that pitching was a bit of a question mark this past season, we now have what looks like a really deep position. Berkley probably is our #1 and then the transfer from Minnesota will be in the mix with our other returning pitchers. It may also allow Hoehn to be a hitter full time.

I may be overreacting but I feel like this puts Michigan back into the mix for a B1G title. I’m sure the former PAC-12 teams and Nebraska will be the favorites but we could be right below that, with a chance to surprise. With Putz, Conway, Hoehn and Stephenson, that’s 4 strong bats. And Kiley Carr had a pretty good freshman season. She hit over .300 and did manage 3 HR. Kira Day is a TBD in my eyes but those were strong numbers at Idaho State. If any of our recruits or returnees step up, it could be a really balanced line-up. It’ll be an interesting battle to see who the catcher is.

I’m the most optimistic about the team’s talent that I’ve been since Bonnie took over. Putz is an All-American threat, Conway should be All-B1G, and Zache projects as a Storako-like pitcher.

Another softball transfer: Abby Ptak, a catcher from Boston College. She led the Eagles in batting average (.375) and hit 5 HR’s.

Looks like her final decision came between us and UNC, so clearly someone that was looking to level-up.

Should be a nice addition!

I’m not finding any announcements on Michigan Softball’s socials but here’s what I see on On3.

It says she committed on Sunday.

Softball also lost a player. Freshman catcher Rachel Del Busto transferred to Cal. She went 0-3 with a walk in 4 games. She’s from San Diego so I’m sure her folks are happy that she’ll be closer to home.
