UConn is looking incredible against BC in an exhibition game. Adding Serah Williams to the team is diabolical.

Here’s the full preseason top-25.

Things kicked off yesterday. Of the marquee matchups, #1 UConn beat #20 Louisville by 13 points and #9 NC State beat #8 Tennessee by 3.

The next matchup of ranked teams is when Texas hosts Richmond on Friday. If anyone has SEC Network+, that’s where you’ll find it.

Loosely related, ex-Longhorn/Wolverine Laila Phelia had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in her winning debut with Syracuse.

You don’t see that every day.

I think it was 4 starters ejected too. They were losing by 3 when it happened. Won by 8.

UConn throttled Ohio State.

Here’s a wild one for you. The Pitt Panther women lost to the University of Scranton Royals today….a D-III school. Whew! Don’t see that too often!

There’s a mention of LSU in the Michigan thread and they do have what looks to be a creampuff schedule until 2026. That’s when they’ll play their first ranked team.

Coming off of a weak November slate, this is what their December schedule looks like as of today:

12/4 vs. 3-5 Duke

12/7 vs. 0-7 UNO

12/13 vs. 3-3 LaTech

12/16 vs. 1-8 Morgan State

12/21 vs. 4-4 UT-Arlington

12/28 vs. 1-5 Alabama State

I do think that Duke may have been ranked in the preseason polls so I can’t completely accuse Coach Mulkey of lining up the softest schedule she could possibly come up with but she sure doesn’t seem to subscribe to the Iron Sharpens Iron philosophy.

2022-23 They played 1 power conference team in an MTE
23-24 - 3 (opener, ACC/SEC Challenge and an MTE)
24-25 - 4 (two in MTE, ACC/SEC Challenge, and a neutral site game)
25-26 - 1 (ACC/SEC Challenge)

Looks like she just doesn’t like a tough noncon slate

It’s funny. I have had a growing dislike for her as a coach since her Baylor days but then realized that when I was a kid, I liked her as a player. I think the Lady Techsters and Cheryl Miller at USC were my introduction to women’s college basketball in the mid-80’s.

Figured I could use this thread for women’s bball and YIKES Demon Deacons Nearly Comeback from 25 Points Down - Wake Forest University Athletics

It’s not quite the buffet of good games that the men had last night but 9 of the top-25 women’s teams play tonight, including Michigan.

Virginia vs. #15 Vandy (SEC Network) and #17 Kentucky vs. Miami (ESPN2) appear to be the best matchups. Both games are at 5pm.

Michigan favored by 32 against CMU according to Torvik. This is only the third biggest Torvik spread remaining. Oakland they are a 47.5 point favorite and then Akron they are -52.1 :joy:

Both Vandy and Kentucky won.

There’s a good slate of games tonight:
