Michigan came back from down 3-1 in the 3rd period at home to beat MSU 4-3 in OT. #1 beats #2 before a neutral site rematch in Detroit tomorrow night

Softball is 3-0 but after taking a 1-0 lead they’re down to #6 Florida 5-1 in the 5th.

It’s crazy that they had a 9:30am game followed by having to play a rested Florida in Florida.

2B Indiana Langford hasn’t played in any of the softball games this weekend. She usually bats leadoff. I’m guessing she’s injured.

Softball won 20-2 this morning, with 8 HR coming from six different players. I guess that was a record. This was against Incarnate Word but they were 8-0 coming into the game and beat Penn State yesterday.

EDIT: Weird that this came out of order.

Thank you!

Michigan Softball lost in their 2nd game today to the host team Houston. They had a 8-2 lead going into the bottom of the 6th but wound up on the wrong end of a 10-9 score. Junior transfer Gabby Ellis gave up 5 runs and true freshman Grayson LeMarche took the loss. The offense was still there with 5 HR’s. Hopefully, it’s a learning experience.

They still have another game tomorrow and can have another 4-1 weekend.

Meanwhile, men’s hockey is about to take on Penn State at Yost. They won last night via an OT shootout.

You missed the start at Yost. 3-1 UM after 2 periods.

I thought they were doing 6:30pm again. My bad. 6-3 win!

Jenissa Conway has 5 HR’s in 10 games, which is pretty impressive. However, Lauren Putz already has 9! She’s averaging a HR nearly every 3 AB’s.

What is the season record at Michigan and who holds it? Romo?

Going back to 1998, Romero had the most with 23 in a season.

I just saw a post on the team’s IG that they’re currently third in HR for the whole NCAA with 24. They’ve really ramped up their power in the last 2-3 years.

I read that the stadium we played at inn Texas is quite small. Everyone was jacking them out.

I Googled it and one result says that it’s 200 feet all the way around and another says that CF is 225. From the photos I could find, it looks like they don’t mark it on the fences. The Hutch is 200 down the lines and I believe 220 in CF. So, maybe it was a shorter park. But maybe not.

Regardless of the dimensions Michigan vs. their opponents in HR’s went like this:

G1: Mich 2 Pitt 1

G2: Mich 0 Hou.Christian 0

G3: Mich 8 IW 2

G4: Mich 5 UH 5

G5: Mich 2 ULaff 0

Total: Mich 17 Opp 8

Among other matchups, Softball will play #22 Arizona State twice in their house this weekend. It should be a good gauge of where we’re at.

UPDATE: Michigan got two wins today, including beating ASU 9-8 in their back end of a double-header.

michigan’s DMR (distance medley relay) just smashed the program record and ran what I believe is the #2 time in NCAA history, 9:14.8. NCAA record is 9:14.1

1200m - Brendan Herger (Northville) 2:50.9
400m - Miles Brown (Novi) 45.0
800m - Camden Law 1:45.9
1600m - Trent McFarland (Utica) 3:53.0

Big Ten is next week at Indiana and NCAA Championships are in 3 weeks at Arkansas
