"But it is not outrageous to compare Poole to Irvin, Dawkins or THJ - all of whom have spent time at the 2 or 3 (positions in which Poole will probably find himself in more than once when he is at Michigan). And Stu played the 1 and 2 so it makes sense to compare them as well. I just don't really see any reason to take an issue with what he said. Unless you disagree that Poole's skillset is not more advanced than the players that MattD listed."
Honestly, let’s get all huffy because Matt D compared Poole to Stu Douglass! Give the guy a break–he arrived back with a bunch of conciliatory and insightful posts, and this should be appreciated.
Just to add, he compared Poole as a soph to Stu as a HS senior.
I will be interested to see how the staff address' Beilein's future to the younger kids being recruited like Cobb, Johns, Wade ect.
He said in a Freep article that he plans to coach for 6 more years.
I know one of the reasons he gave most recently for the length of his current contract was to make sure he could be with the kids he was recruiting at the time all 4 years. Maybe something like that is at play again with the 2017 class.
Sane, (for whatever reason I can’t quote your post) I know he will be around for 6 more years, but a big factor in why Baily went to Marquette, as has been reported by some mods elsewhere, Baily’18 wasn’t 100% Beilein would still be there for his full 4 years. Beilein’s deal is up in '20 (or '21) correct? If they are starting to make contact with the Johns’18, Wade’18and Cobb’s’19 of the world, it would have to be addressed you would think.

Beilein’s current contract goes through 2019 I believe. 2020/2021 is not part of it as far as I know. Which is why a discussion about him being around for 6 more years is interesting.
The thing I like most about Poole is that he seems to be a perfect fit for the program in every way possible. These are the type of recruits we likely will have to keep hitting on and hope they reach their upside if we are going to have a chance of competing for conf championships and long tourney runs.

Alright, now it’s applicable through 2021, did you have inside information Wolverine3?
