I’ll tell you what…JB better not take a commit until Brown decides if this is true, I don’t care if its Wagner, Miller, or anybody else…you wait under all circumstances. This would literally be the recruiting upset of the century

I’d still say you could take one commit (but one commit only) before Brown’s decision (whichever way that is). You can jostle schollies around, and I’m also somewhat believing the attrition rumors in some places.
and if the other one of those two is Kentucky, his decision might very well be swayed by a potential Calipari NBA move.

The only way I would take on a non-Brown player is in the situation where Caris is 100% leaving.
Snow and Webb say top 2. No more OFFICIAL visits for Brown. He can always visit unofficially. Battle set to officially visit in May.
Get one of Brown/Langford/Battle fergoshsakes
Would love to see some high flying dunks between Brown and Dawkins next year, really gets the crowd into the game. It’s something we were missing this year without GR3.
This would be the recruiting upset of the century! But we are so due, who knows? I’ll be HAPPY to eat my words if IF it happens.

I’d eat mine and welcome any criticism for being a nay-sayer for an appetizer!
We can definitely take an Edwards or Wagner while we wait for Brown. Max won’t be back, Hatch can be moved to a medical scholarship, and I’d imagine there will be some attrition soon as well.
And then there is this:
I sat down with Jaylen Brown last night: "I took a lot of visits. Nobody’s basketball program was as good as Kentucky," he said. More later.

Seems like he may wait and see who goes to the draft from Kentucky, and maybe Michigan is the backup plan…

Gotta assume what Caris decides will affect his decision also.
I’m not buying anything that people are selling regarding the Brown recruitment. Can’t read too much into what an 18-year-old tells reporters looking for clickbait articles trying to be the first with the scoop.
Here’s the U-M reaction:
Michigan, I have a lot of family. I’m based in Michigan so I could deflect a lot of stuff because my family is there, so Michigan is definitely going to be in the front runner of things. Talking to Coach Beilein, he’s like an offensive genius the way he gets these guys that aren’t really ranked high to be lottery picks in the draft is amazing. It’s definitely something that drew my attention. Also Michigan is a great education school. They have one of the top public universities in America with Cal-Berkeley, UCLA and North Carolina.
Also an interesting quote about development:
I want to develop. People say I’m ready to go this year. People say I’ll be ready next year. To do what I want to do, I think it’ll take me at least two years. I don’t want to come into a situation like the NBA and have to develop for two or three years. When I come in I want to be a superstar. Coming in I want to be on superstar status. Coming in I don’t want to have to wait two years. It’s going to take development and it’s going to take hard work. I know I can make the business move and be a top five, top 10 or top 15 draft pick if I just had a solid year in college and left. I love the game too much to chase after the money. I know your heath is not secure, but I love the game. Your heath is never secure. You could get hurt anytime. I just want to develop and be the best player I can be. When I’m ready, I’m ready.
2 years? Huh, what? Did they interview someone else and just mix up the names? Do potential top 5 picks ever go back to school? Only partially joking… this seems so strange that it almost makes UM seem like a legit contender. I will not believe they are a legit contender until he signs with Michigan but, this at least sounds like we will actually be considered.
God D*mn it, now you have me making lineups with Brown in it…

I pray this is all unfilitered honesty, rather than PC talk.
based on some of the interviews I’ve seen of Brown, this jibes. He seems like a really mature guy with a solid family base that wants him to get an education too.
If Kentucky is the front runner, a calipari NBA move would have to influence things.
