Can’t speak for the UP, but ‘the love’ in LA is much more influential outside of the scope of basketball/in the arena…
MattD, UCLA sells %53 of their arena and seldom play in national television or prime time. Kentucky and Duke sell out every game, are constantly being fluffed by the media, and players are icons the second they step on the court. You are lying to yourself if you think people in LA "love" UCLA basketball the way people in Lexington love Kentucky basketball.
I believe what he is getting at that if you are a star in L.A. you have a better shot at ending up at a free clinic for an STD test.
hailtoyourvictor… point taken on exposure, stanley johnson plays west and will be top 5 in non LA market, doesn’t seem to impact his status. Brown will go top 5 regardless of where, where is better lifestyle?

That is pretty much my point…in all fairness to Lexington or Durham, who the hell would rather live in those places vs LA? I’m a bit partial of course, but I’m sure the overwhelming majority of people would prefer LA.
The mystery surrounding Jaylen Brown’s recruitment has left me oddly thinking we have a chance at landing this guy despite the 99 reasons he has to NOT come here…
If Brown were to commit to UM, I hope and pray he can be for us like what Justyse Winslow is for Duke. A tough kid that can do a little bit of everything

He’s better than Winslow offensively.
Yeah I figured he was as well, but Winslow’s ability to score in traffic, play D, and rebound some as well, are exactly what this team needs in my opinion.
“We’ve had some very interesting talks,” said Hamilton, a four-year letterman who captained the Bulldogs in 1989 and averaged 12.7 points that season as the team’s point guard. “I try not to push it one way or another. I don’t want to be involved to the point where it looks like I’m trying to persuade him to go to Georgia. I just don’t want to be in that line of people. But I’m telling things he needs to look into in life beyond basketball and so forth. Those are the kinds of talks I have with him.”
dylan scout indicating an “end of month” decision for brown. as in next week or two, or end of april? I imagine the radio silence doesn’t speak well for UM or bringing in Shonn Miller as we explore our next options.
