Iffff we were to look for a coach who would be realistic targets?

ya, totally on board with you. my delusional optimism should be reminded when we hired JB, im sure alot of people were like “ok?”

we should be prepared to not be dissapointed and throw the new coach out when its not brad stevens or donovan (who paid players in his national title run).

Hey brother, screw Few. Seen him in action around Spokane. Sleazy! Sure can coach, but no thanks.

Porter Moser should not be called unless everyone has turned us down. Think outside the box. Call Painter, Bennett from St Mary’s, Ed Cooley, the Seton Hall coach, Mike White, Kelvin Sampson, Lon Kruger, Prohm, Bruce Weber, Rick Barnes, Jamie Dixon, Shaka freaking Smart. Just please anyone besides a guy that had one good tourney run.

I would pick Moser before Smart any day. Smart is proven to be not good. Moser might actually be good but he is unproven. His team sure looked good 2 seasons ago.

he’s basically Shaka Smart except hasn’t proven he can recruit. So a worse version of Shaka

There has to be a line where promoting from within is better than an outside coach. For me, Smart is way below that line.

Sleazy, care to expand?

Excellent article by mgoblog that sums up my thoughts pretty much word for word

I agree, and Porter Moser is so far down there isn’t even a line to see because it’s so dark

I might be biased. I am a Loyola grad but I have never seen any of Shaka’s teams play with much intelligence at all. Shaka’s offense is nothingness. Loyola had a very fun and smart team two seasons ago. I did not follow them this year but it does appear they fell short of their expectations…I am not saying Moser should be the first choice or even the top 5 choice but there is no way in hell it is a good idea to bring Shaka here, imo. He is pretty bad and his teams are very boring to watch, imo.

Brian’s list stinks. No imaginiation. 3 guys above Yak and one of them is Donovan (a pipe dream)? I do like Prohm though and I agree with Brian there.

You know where I hangout when on the road. Seen the boy in action. Don’t want him.

I wouldn’t mind juwan Howard. Think his high end potential in terms of recruiting name power could be big.

I’d like to keep what we have going. I’d roll the dice on Yaklich.

yea don’t get why people down on juwan.

being listed for nba head jobs
19 year pro and six year assisstant under a good coach and pat riley
would be a natural recruiter and a name with some traction
UM guy

I’m a big Porter Moser fan too. There’s names I’d rank higher, but if he’s the lowest on the list, I feel good about it

Looking at the list Sam put out there that the AD is considering… the program is officially dead. Hope they enjoy squandering Beilein’s tenure.

Yeah I would take Yaklich as well.

Yeah not happy about that list. Like Andy Katz’s much better.

Moser has a long track record of being unimpressive. He got lucky in various close games in the tournament last year. That’s it.
