If Michigan landed Brey they’d probably be favorites for Hunter Dickinson. That’s one plus on the recruiting trail I can think. Brey’s connection with DeMatha (Dickinson’s school) is strong
I always thought Brey was offensive oriented.
Hiring Brey would be a complete joke.
Brey’s def an O coach first–he’s never had KenPom AdjO ranking worse than his AdjD ranking
Brey just isn’t good enough, IMO. In order do: Big name. Mike White / Steve Prohm. Or keep it internal.
No thank you on Mike Brey. People are getting me to come around on Mike White, although he’s never coached/played outside of the south.
Yep he’s old an declining
A guy that has Southern roots is not coming here. Culture shock too big.
Have a link?
Am I the only person on Gregg Marshall island?
Not sure how I feel about his wife screaming at people after the class act of Mr. & Mrs. Beilein.
I think so. Hard pass on Marshall he’s been declining as a coach and WSU has been on the downswing since moving to a better conference.
Nope I would kick the tires there as well
That’s not true at all
where’s the list posted?
They were the big dawgs in the MVC and now they’re an also ran in the AAC.
First off, there is a huge laundry list of schools who have either been accused of cheating by the NCAA, or found guilty of cheating by the NCAA.
The only thing Michigan has been punished for, dating back to Bo Schembechler, is excessive stretching under Rich Rod.
At OSU, there were players trading uniform pants and autographs for tats, and Jim Tressel claiming he didn’t know who to report it to. At USC, there was Reggie Bush (and a million other accusations of cheating by people who would know). At Miami, there was Nevin Shapiro throwing boat parties for players. At Alabama, you have all of the players’ expensive, tricked out cars displayed on the internet. At Clemson, there was the car dealer who “leased” a super expensive, exotic car to Tee Higgins (then immediately took down the pictures when he figured out it wasn’t such a good thing).
Over the years, there have been countless stories of recruits getting paid to go elsewhere (Isaiah Wilson - takes a last minute trip to Georgia and suddenly he commits there), Najee Harris, even going back a long time to Ronald Johnson and Nick Perry to USC. There was LaQuon Treadwell - a longtime, strong Michigan lean - flashing piles of cash on Instagram.
Schools like Alabama, Oklahoma, Miami, and USC have been nailed for recruiting violations in just about every decade for 40+ years. Same with Kentucky basketball (and Memphis basketball).
Show me one story out there about a football recruit getting paid to go to Michigan. From anywhere. I’ve never seen a single accusation. And good lord, if we’re paying guys, you would think we could do a better job of recruiting than we are. We had the Ed Martin situation, and now basketball has gone the exact opposite route - which is going to make it that much tougher to replace John Beilein.
Like I said, that’s not true. You’re spouting stuff with no backup. They’ve been in the AAC two years. They went 14-4 in conference their first year, got a 4 seed in NCAAT. They then lost nearly everyone on their team that played any minutes, a total rebuild job. They struggled early as young teams are wont to do, and then they really picked it up by year end and went to the NIT semis
no you are not
That 4 seed got them no where (round of 32), a 6th place finish in a middling AAC, and final four in the NIT isn’t much to write home about. Marshall is also known as less of a recruiter than JB, no thanks
