The baseline (lead) ref probably saw multiple fouls and decided to see if there was any āsubstantialā advantage gained. Post play is the most difficult part of the game for most refs.

Probably, but often when your opponent gets shoved to the ground, you meet the substantial advantage bar.

For what? No.
Why are we insisting on feeding Davis when heās 12 feet outāhe canāt do anythig from there. Too many dribbles to hoop. And we know he canāt kick it out.
Feels like an implicit recognition that heās a liability in every other aspect of offense / defense
