Former Michigan Players NOT in NBA

TIL I learned Lebanon had a pro basketball league

Didn’t realize Khayat gave up on American college

Man. :face_holding_back_tears:

I was so high on both those dudes. It’s good knowing they’re out there, hoopin’ it up for all us sinners.

NYTimes Featured article on Nunez

An excerpt from the NYT article

In college, he was playing with and against some of the best players in the country, but he was relegated to a minor role in games. His grand ambition was to play in the N.B.A., and the dream seemed to be fading, minute by minute on the bench. But unlike many frustrated athletes, Mr. Nunez stayed put.

“Logically, the thing you would do in that situation is transfer,” he said. “But I just loved Michigan.”

Also a quote from Juwan

“He always worked hard, never complained and brought light to the team,” said Mr. Howard, who is now an assistant coach with the Brooklyn Nets.

It is truly weird.

Save a handful of artists, I don’t enjoy country music, especially if it’s pop, but I’m happy for him. I may give him a listen.

EDIT: I heard the song linked in the article. It’s not bad, though I now wonder what teammate did him wrong (if the premise of the song is true).

it amuses me that the New York Times is fully committed to its “N.B.A." pretense, but only selectively to " Mr. ____" bit.

Taking a moment to note that one of the hallmarks of a quality publication is the consistency of its editing, I am enjoying pointing out the inconsistency within even this one single story.

And I also enjoyed the contributions from Mr. Howard and Mr. Johns.

Anyhow, can I get a G? I wrote a little something, and it goes like this:

There’s a tear in my veer

Screen cause I’m on the weak side dear

As you bounce with Zavier the great

My heart sinks lower than my usage rate

My love for you yields more than two

When I’m in rhythm I can shoot you

The internet says Jordan Poole. Allegedly.

I’m pretty sure I remember hearing it definitely wasn’t Poole, and was likely Brandon Johns

Outlaw country / old country = great and pure Americana

Whatever they consider country these days as far as major names go= putrid

I did see Willie Nelson play at Stubb’s either when I lived in Austin or on one of my visits in between the two times I lived there. That was a lot of fun.

Good fit for a small non-rebounding guard - Slovaks are already good at czeching out.
