Big Ten Discussion

I think most of the time, losing streaks just snowball (as with IU right now) and it becomes harder and harder to right the ship. I would have rather had OSU still filled with self-doubt after losing yet again. But I expect to take care of them regardless.

I think Wisconsin gets away with a lot of block calls/ a lot of hands on the offensive players.

It’s their identity on defense. Lots of contact on cutters and then all the flopping down low.

My fearless prediction: If Trevion Williams can play 25 minutes against MSU tomorrow, the Boilermakers will definitely… have a chance.

Check out the big fella’s rebounding numbers - my, oh my.

Wow awful news for Nebraska. Copeland done for the season.

I really like Williams. I like Purdue too, even in our big win over them you could see the promis. I like painter even though he hasn’t gotten over the hump in the tourney. They ran good sets just weren’t hitting the shots versus us.

Pat Chambers has to be done at PSU, right? Now 0-9 in league play and 7-13 overall. They could be lucky to make it to 10 wins.

Pretty amazing how quickly they’ve fallen since winning the NIT.

Really thought they’d win today. When I saw the line , it made me think it was odd so I rode them. I’ve been ice cold in big ten games.

Very bad news for Nebraska and terrible news for the young man. He was a warrior.

It certainly looks like Painter has figured out how to get his underclassmen - Williams, Eastern, Wheeler, Hunter, Stefanovic - into the rotation productively. Getting more athleticism onto the court was probably the only way to improve what had been a poor defense. Now it may be an acceptable defense, good enough to get them a bye in the conference tournament.

Missed it. What point in the game?

Second B1G road win in Rutgers history - both at Penn State. Hard to see how Chambers will keep the job.

Law dumped it off on a fast break and lightly bumped Davison after the pass. Davison fell to the ground like he was hit by a train. Immediate charge call.

Non-Michigan folks would likely point to Iggy.

Fair enough. Maybe if Davison wasn’t another in a long line of floptastic Wisconsin guards I’d probably be a lot more indifferent.

The guy who Mike Watkins punched at McDonald’s texted me and asked me to vote for PSU’s Mike Watkins. What an idiot, it’s as though he hasn’t even seen Brad Davisons’s flops. lol.

Big XII goes 6-4 vs. the SEC, but I guess the margins of victory dictated that the conference drop still further behind the B1G - the lead is almost a half a point of average KenPom efficiency margin with the last significant interconference games in the books.

I have to think any B1G team with 10 conference wins will get an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. Whether this will include IU, OSU, or Nebraska remains to be seen.

Big ten play has really killed some teams. I normally think the big 12 is overrated but None of the teams are hot garbage. Just none excite me outside Iowa st and Kansas. Tech is solid and Kansas st and Oklahoma are good but when I watch them I wonder why or how.

Sec is finally up on its feet. Miss st impressed me a lot tonight, Auburn is dangerous and Kentucky/Tennessee are very good obviously, I’m surprised how bad fla is.

Rooting HARD for Purdue today. Looking at Michigan State’s schedule and it softens up considerably after this stretch. I could see them finishing 17-3 in league (that could even be pessimistic) and even that might require Michigan beating them twice. This is probably one of the more “loseable” games left on their schedule with the way the rest of the B1G looks.

Purdue/MSU spread has swung from MSU -2.5 to PU -1.
