If Hunter comes back he will lol

It’s gonna be fascinating because their fan base’s groans are getting louder and he’s not budging on anything. Gonna leave 2+ scholarships open again probably if they don’t get Bridges and essentially run it back next season except without Gabe Brown and likely without Max Christie and without Marcus Bingham.

Sooooo fun!!!

Like their wings might legit only be Pierre Brooks, and Malik Hall playing out of position and Jaden Akins playing out of position. And their centers are probably just Marble, Sissoko, freshman Jaxon Kohler and then small ball Joey Hauser

The beat down at Crisler was so bad that Izzo blacked out and has no memory of it

is the Kohler hype just fan stuff or legit? I’ve seen some really strong takes

So Hauser is coming back?

so rotation-wise it’s the following?

Hoggard | Walker | Holloman
Walker | Akins
Hall | Brooks
Hauser | Hall
Marble | Sissoko | Kohler

Total tangent, but Pat Spencer walking off the lacrosse field, his basketball the prior 4 years having been playing high level adult rec leagues, and being a totally fine B10 player was really impressive.

I like Kohler a lot but I wouldn’t want my team’s season’s frontcourt success hinging on him being a starter level guy next year. I think offensively he’ll contribute immediately. His “bag” or whatever you call it is deep in the low post. Don’t think he’ll be able to guard a soul though.

Seems likely from what I’ve heard but it’s nothing concrete. Some Charlie Day at the whiteboard level math tells me that Izzo’s recent quotes about Malik Hall changing positions make more sense if Hauser is back and Christie is gone. Hauser also did an interview where he said his brother told him straight up he should return. So we’ll see

Yep. Which is downright hilarious seeing as that includes just 10 scholarship players, multiple positions of obvious need and a coach who is still openly sh!tting on how the portal is so bad for the game in interviews. I’m sure there’s more football players they can give a roster spot to though.

I was ready to dance on MSUs grave about this time last year thinking a bunch of guys would transfer and all that happened was Kithier and Loyer leaving so I’m gonna try not to get too excited quite yet

It will be funny if they find a way to keep Hall under 20 minutes a game again.

I did the same, but I also remember thinking the Loyer/Kithier/Watts stuff was inevitable. This year it seems like the doomsday Michigan fan scenario is just MSU gets Jalen Bridges and Jaxon Kohler is good. And that’s still not super intimidating IMO.

Still zero future pros on that roster.

Actually I guess Christie coming back would be the true doomsday scenario but there’s so much smoke there that he’s out the door. I will have a lot of self-correcting to do on my Christie family premature grave dances if he returns.

Akins will play like 17 minutes a game max next year and it’s going to be glorious.

there’s a scenario where they have no choice but to play Hall 35mpg and he turns into Senior Denzel Valentine

Just let me be happy Boutros.

There’s also this on Jalen Bridges

Yeah…I get why they took Walker - it would have been silly to assume Hoggard could play - but now they know he can it really puts them in a bind.

Yeah the doomsday scenario was Christie being back and they add a legit big and maybe another wing. If Christie is gone they lost their best (only?) huge breakout candidate that could take them to conference contender
