SIAP, but this is good news for Michigan with regards to Eisley

True, coaching staff continuity is good, but so, too, is assistants getting head gigs and making Michigan a marketable place for up-and-comers.

Coaching news coming from everywhere today.

As for BC, that’s not really a name I’d seen mentioned. The coaches at Colgate and St. Bonaventure should have been their top options imo. But wouldn’t surprise me if they went cheap. Not that Grant has a bad resume. I never thought Eisley was gonna get the BC job, unfortunately

That’s gotta be a huge letdown for Eisley. Going to be exponentially harder to get a head job now. Wouldn’t surprise me if he left for an NBA assistant job at some point soon.

Seems like maybe they cheaped out because this guy was probably way hotter after three straight 24+ win seasons in the middle of his C of C tenure (including a narrow loss to 4-seed Auburn in 2018). Now he’s coming off of 17-14 and 9-10 campaigns.

No doubt, hope Eisley gets chances to advance his career, but he’s seemed to be a high quality assistant so far. Would think Michigan loses one of him or Saddi to a HC job soon enough.

Eisley’s probably more financially secure than most assistants given his NBA career, but I’m sure he’s got higher aspirations as a coach.

Apparently New Mexico is choosing between Pitino Jr. and Tim Miles. Although when did Pitino have time to interview for that??

There were rumors a few weeks back that Minnesota had decided to part ways with Pitino and let him coach the rest of the season. If those were true and they just kept it hush hush til now to save face, he could have been looking around towards the end of the season.

Miles always struck as more the MM type so I think he’d do well there. Pitino? LOL. Poor Lobo fans.

I just read that Pitino Sr is also in the mix there

I thought he was a Gael 4 Lyfe?!

Apparently, SDSU coach (and Juwan mentor) Brian Dutcher has a big buyout with a carve out for a lower buyout if it’s Minnesota.

If Dutcher wants that job, he’ll get it.

I feel for guys like Dutcher and Anthony Grant of Dayton who lost generational teams to COVID last season.

If I’m Minnesota I hire Dutcher or Medved from CSU. Both Minnesota guys. Medved isn’t as well known yet but he built that Furman program and is now doing well at CSU as well

Michigan boosters clearly do not feel the same way about Harbaugh as IU boosters feel about Archie. lol
