Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 1)

Obviously Morsel got hit in the face and I wish him a speedy and full recovery, but did anyone see contact by Franz with the left side of Morsel’s face. Could this contact have occurred prior to the foul by Franz? As many times as they showed the replay I didn’t see it, and while I don’t usually pay much attention to Dakich, he claimed to have watched it several times during the commercial break and didn’t see anything, either. Again, I wish the kid a speedy recovery.

Franz’s right elbow caught him on the left side as he was going up originally. You can see Morsell’s head move to the right as he takes the contact.

Have there ever been many college basketball games on NYD?

The bowls and parades dominated the day long before the CFP.

We play Maryland again on Jan. 19, so he should be back for that contest.

No. My point was rather that my interest in the games is low.

Hard to see the contact, I criticized the call. My bad, hope the young man heals up soon.

Iowa is -3.5@ Rutgers today. Any word on Rutgers injuries? Would love for both teams to be at full strength

According to the On The Banks game preview, doesn’t sound like either Omoruyi or Harper Jr. are expected to play and McConnell is still just doing drills and doesn’t appear to be anywhere close to game action yet.

I’m sure Rutgers will play tough and make it a game but I don’t see them overcoming Iowa.

I’m officially putting an asterisk on any Iowa conference championship now :smirk:

Consider that the Omoruyi who transferred to Oregon is starting and having a great season, how good would Rutgers be with him on the roster and everyone healthy?

I don’t think he’d be around this year regardless. He had to RS last year when he transferred so if he stayed at Rutgers he’d have been a senior last year.

Rutgers wanted Eugene Omoruyi to redshirt last year because of the kneecap issue. Family members/handlers got in his ear saying not to redshirt and transfer with the idea of getting a waiver. He ended up sitting out anyway. His goal was to play in the NCAA tournament and make the NBA. He thought Rutgers was not his best available path. Also, Omoruyi fell out with Baker and Harper. Baker and Harper felt Omoruyi wasn’t willing to be a team player. And Omoruyi didn’t like the fact Rutgers brought in transfer Yeboah.

I’m glad those guys are available and hopefully playing. Really curious as to what a Iowa @ full strength Rutgers result would be.

Holy cow I was not prepared for shaved head Dan Dakich.

edit: The internet says he was attacked by a hawk and went with it due to cuts. I’m not sure the long term appeal is there.

Rutgers is elite at denying post entries. Hmm…

Which is bad news for Iowa as Connor McCaffrey is their best post entry passer

That’s what their fans are saying in the reddit game thread.

Johnson is a player, big body that can move.
