Impressive no doubt but watching the game and looking at the statistics osu definitely had more of a luck factor in this blowout than um last year. Villanova could barely even get a shot off against us and we didn’t shoot the lights out. We held them to around 30% of their fg attempts being threes osu was around 50%.
Nova shot 28% on twos and 33% on threes. That’s not a lucky defensive effort.
Villanova missed a lot more open looks than they usually do and that is not the type of three pt volume you want to allow them.
I just don’t think there’s anything lucky about a game where one team shoots over 60% on twos and the other team shoots under 30% on twos.
He’s terrible on offense, Cooley has to have something on them big east coaches that told Brian snow he’s a really good coach. That or Cooley is just buddy buddy with a lot of media members which also seems to be the case.
Yeah, Cooley is buddy buddy with media guys. Thank god we didn’t hire him.
And Purdue seems to have choked
They really struggle with the fact that they have no creation. Every possession is a series of off-ball screens falling back to a post-up.
That was some collapse by Purdue.
So happy Ed Cooley is not our coach. I already trust Howard to coach circles around him on offense
yea, i was very scared of that hire. after we saw that donovan or a home run hire like that was out I thought it was pretty clear that Howard or coach Y were the best options. Cooley or Smart would have been so underwhelming and I think you’ve seen who they are at this point. Howard is at least an unknown with potential to show he could be great. I’ve been fairly pleased thus far.
I actually would not lump Shaka with Cooley at all. In fact I was the leader of the Shaka movement here
In fact I have a feeling Texas will be very good this year
Still not over the NW/Providence result. Absolutely stunning loss.
Yeah Shaka was on a different level than Cooley. Cooleys floor was much lower than smarts here imo.
What do we think of Penn State tonight at Georgetown? One of the Big Ten teams that I don’t really have a read on. Well, I probably have a judgment based on the past but want to give a fair shake. I also don’t think Georgetown is particularly good.
I was surprised it was a pick em at Georgetown. Felt like that should be flipped. But my pulse on big ten lines through the early season has been absolutely horrific so I kind of want to fade my own pick
It is Georgetown -2.5 now.
Yea. Don’t think Georgetown is that good either but Akinjo and McClung will be a problem for PSU
I don’t have a good read on PSU, but betting against Patrick Ewing is often a good idea from my experience.
George would be my pick
