Not that I’m advocating for the recruiting process of the coaching staff, but a recent Scout article on Jalen Coleman shows he still seems to have high interest in Michigan (and MSU). It’s definitely backed off from the “heavy lean” position earlier, but it sounds like the staff is still very much in contact with him and he holds UM in similar regard for now.
I say this mostly because I’m still on the Coleman train.
I've said it for literally months - it seems we consistently get out worked on the recruiting trail. It's beyond me as to why.
I don’t know about the staff getting outworked, but it seems bizarre to me that we have had no 2015 recruits on campus over the last 2 weekends. Huge Sunday games against Wiscy and Sparty should have been our biggest visit weekends of the year.
Maybe we will have some guys in for the games against Minny or IU, but you would think the Sparty and Wiscy games would be bigger draws.

Eric Davis was at the MSU game but I agree.
Seems like all of the 15’ and 16’ recruits are coming in the summer, after we know who is and isn’t leaving.
I think it’s a little early to get overly concerned about any of this. First, very few of the top 2015 kids have committed anywhere yet. So it’s not like we’re really falling behind here.
Second, we obviously take a more deliberate approach to recruiting. The coaches want kids to visit first before offering them, and they want to be sure of the fit. Given that we’re working on our second Big Ten title in three years (and the national runner up last year), I think our approach is clearly working.
I assume we offered the first three guys for a clear reason: those are the guys the coaches have prioritized. We probably want to see what they’re going to do before moving on to the next kids. Sure, you can have guys like Grandstaff visit now, but what if he visits and we decide to hold off on an offer? Maybe that’s worse than continuing to recruit him and setting up a visit when we know for sure we plan to offer.
Further, the PG recruiting is a little tricky. Clearly, we would accept a commitment from Brunson if he gave one. Otherwise we wouldn’t have offered. At the same time, I get the distinct impression that if he picks another school, we may just move on to the 2016 kids, where we are strong with Thornton and Winston.
I don’t get too worked up about this. I really doubt other schools are “outworking” us, they just approach it differently. Frankly, I think our coaches are the best in the business at finding relatively undiscovered talent. Look at Burke and Levert - two guys we took right from OSU’s backyard who have been huge contributors for us.
Frankly, I do not think we cast a wide enough net.
Kids Want to feel wanted. And with all the talent out there- we only have three offers. Not too many kids feeling our " love". I wish we would offer more as we know some will not come to fruition.
Just playing the flip side of this…instead of handing out 20 scholarships that show we just want anyone - if you hold a Michigan offer, you KNOW you’re THE guy they want because it’s a rare thing to get. THAT’S showing some major love.

Winston’s parents work for MSU. Thronton goes to Findlay Prep. I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
I think Beilein uses a scholarship on one of the combo-guards and transitions them, rather than banking it, if we miss out on Brunson.
