2025-26 NBA Discussion

Orlando still struggling

He loves New Orleans cuisine too much to ask out of the city iyam (/s sort of). Gumbo, Jambalaya, Seafood boil, Etoffee, Beignet, Fried Chicken, etc.

This is as short a walk as it’s possible to take but yes Zion does not seem like he takes care of himself like he should. An obvious way to take better care of himself regardless of the temptations of a city culinary or otherwise would be to ask out of a franchise that’s terrible at the nuts and bolts of being an NBA franchise and suggested by firing Griffin and hiring Dumars/Weaver they wanted to get much worse.

I’m two weeks from declaring that contract a screaming bargain

The guy who I thought was their best player hasn’t even played yet!

Anyway if we end up like 15-4 or something I’m declaring Zach Lavine a stage IV cancer

I like betting on above average production by age generally speaking but non shooter that also doesn’t get to the line prized most by a horrible org seemed like a tough row even for a strong aging curve to hoe. But I guess we’re getting there anyway, seemingly in a hurry.

I still refuse to believe Vuc is doing this again.

EDIT: in retrospect I never should’ve doubted Giddey

Yeah the big thing that helped them last year was that Vuc had his best season ever at age 34, and it seemed unlikely to happen again at 35, but he’s shooting 48% from three, 64% from two, and playing like a diet Jokic as a passer. I’m skeptical this continues!

I also don’t think this team shoots 40% from 3 all year (2nd in the league) and are a bit lucky on opponent three point shooting.

But Giddey’s free throw rate has gone from 27% last year to 38% this year!

I think the Bulls hot start isn’t sustainable and should come back down to earth. They aren’t one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.

When the dust settles, I think the Cavs, NYK will end up getting the top 2 seeds, but the Pistons and the Bucks will be fighting for it. The Bulls should be a 7-8 seed, which sounds about right given the issues with the Magic, Celtics, Pacers and the Hawks.

You’re obviously incorrect

With the Bulls being 7-8 seed orrrr?

Everything you wrote about the Bulls, they’re definitely hosting a first round series.

114-103 over the Jazz

Cade 31 and 10 assists

Not the most inspiring performance but they handle business to get to 6-2, 4 game winning streak

The Pistons win their 4th in a row. 22 & 22 (and a block) for Duren. Cade struggled for most of the first 3 quarters and then flipped the switch and put in 19 of his 31 points. He also had 10 assists in the game. The winless Nets are up next!

EDIT: The Nets beat the Pacers tonight.

Grant Long just nicknamed Holland “Crash”. I think that fits.

I think Cade trust his teammates more so he paced himself in the first three quarters and turn it on in the 4th quarter. It’s been the theme this season. I think Cade learned not to go all out all game long and then get gassed in the 4th quarter.

He was also missing a lot of shots. He was 5 for 15 from the field heading into the 4th.

I’m still baffled how ESPN chose Big Perk over Udonis Haslem.

I will take this further. Zion should’ve taken the NFL offer.

Just for fun, of Teams Of Interest here:

Net rating:

Pistons (like, everybody on this board): 8th overall, 4th in the east. (+4.3 pp100). They are 18th in offense (0.6 pp100 below league average), 3rd in defense (4.9 pp100 better than league average). They have the best eFG% defense in the league.

Bulls (me, Colin, maybe diesmitty?) 6th in net rating (+4.8 pp100). 2nd in the East. They are 8th in offense (3.3 pp100 over league average), 12th in defense (1.5 pp100 better than league average). They are 5th in both eFG% and eFG% allowed.

Orlando (lots of Michigan guys!): 19th in net rating (-1.3 pp100). 12th in the east. They are the 24th ranked offense (2 pp100 below league average), 14th in defense (0.7 pp100 better than league average). They basically do nothing well as a team right now outside of getting to the line - 1st in FTA/FGA

Indiana (Superdave, sorry!). 27th in net rating, 13th in the east (-7.5 pp100). 28th in offense (8.7 pp100 below league average), 13th in defense (1.2 pp100 above league average).

Atlanta (turnip). 18th in net rating, 11th in the east. -0.7 net rating. 22nd in offense (1.2 pp100 below league average). 15th in defense (0.5 pp100 above league average).
