Yeah I’m not sure why they’re making him play there so much but I would imagine he’ll have a lot less pressure to handle the ball when Kyrie is back

Nice win for the Pistons in Memphis. Cade and Stew led the way. Next two games against Utah and Brooklyn.

From Omari’s live post on BlueSky, Beef was a huge factor in their win with scoring, rebounding and defense. Beef needs to be a Piston for life.

It was a friendly matchup for Stewart. Beef is not something the Grizzlies have much of with Edey sidelined.

They had size out there with JJJ plus 7-footer Jock Landale and 6’10” Charles Bassey off the bench. But JJJ has always been a little soft when it comes to rebounding and Landale is a bit of a stiff. Bassey held his own.

The Pistons did almost blow a 21-point lead that they had with about 14 minutes left in the game but Cade made some clutch hoops down the stretch.

In other news Ja Morant is trying to find his joy of basketball.

He’s just not very good anymore. The risk of these willowy guys who go to the rack as their primary means of attack is that unless they’re Allen Iverson, they just don’t last very long. There was a time where Ja’s on-court play justified all the BS, but I think we’re long past that point (ditto his old AAU teammate)

We’ve lost our Pistonsness😭

Who’s his old teammate?

Zion Williamson

Yeah, it’s hard to over-state how horrifically f’d that franchise is, and how the new admin (Ladies and Gentleman Troy Weaver!) just dug their hole like 30 yard deeper in short order.

Yeah, trading picks in this year’s draft (which looks pretty darn good after yesterday) to draft Derik Queen (who has a ceiling of role player) was…a choice.

You have to wonder if both Ja and Zion need a change of scenery (and by that I mean move to a well-run organization that can hold them accountable).

Memphis is a well run organization. Or at least generally has been known as such

Yeah, just feels like they haven’t figured out what to do with Ja - and obviously most of that is on Ja, but I think they allowed too much leeway to his crew and father. And maybe it’s the new coach trying to create accountability and it’ll be a rough patch…but, not sure the talent is all that great either (other than Jackson and Morant when he is available).

I think Memphis is well-run, it’s just that their best player decided to waste his prime on suspension, now he’s always injured, and they need to pivot

Yep. When Cade was not on the floor, it was ugly.

Kinda falling in love with the Josh Giddey Bulls

Don’t you dare do that to yourself

Was thinking about this earlier and one of the low key indictments of Zion is he never asked out of New Orleans. But especially after that management change.
