But I made a bet on the Suns to win it all when they were below five hundred in January (+3200) and I took the Heat to win the East right before the playoffs started with some of my winnings from the UConn championship.
Herro going down hurts the cause but it’s still pretty spicy.

Agreed. Seems like serious parity in the west, although the Suns could figure some things out as they go. And although the Warriors aren’t the same Warriors, they do historically play a tight series in the early rounds before making it to the finals where they shine.
I’m worried that this is a year Boston sneaks in and takes it. I haven’t watched enough in the East to know what’s what there, but now Milwaukee would have to win 3 straight.

Well Milwaukee is in trouble, and the current reports are that Embiid may not be able to go to start round 2 (against the Celtics) which would be a massive problem
so the road is cleared in many ways
I think we’re going to see the Nuggets in the west, personally, but I realize that many (all?) are way down on Jokic’s defense. I just think they have so much offense, and Gordon really helped them defensively (this is the first playoffs they play with the Jokic-Murray-Porter-Gordon core despite it being on year 3)

Xavier Simpson and Jordan Poole being the duo to wear the “Say Less” shirts will always be hilarious to me. It’s the fun version of watching Jett wear something that says “For Competitors Only”

There’s a ton to criticize Ja Morant for but this comment is wildly decontextualized (ie, who was on the Grizzlies when they ran that record promoting Ja to talk, and the quality of the Lakers roster that exists today vs the one that ran them to well under .500 and earned then then 7 seed)
Like yeah - when you lose your starting and backup center, the two of whom give your team one of its chief identities (offensive rebounding) and play a seven seed that played 60% win percentage ball in its current iteration (and your best player has an injured shooting hand)

Ja’s the face of the team so he probably should do media, but I’m not that worked up about it.
HOWEVER, Dillon Brooks, if you want to go full wrestling heel in the media when you win, you better be there to eat it when you lose.

I really want to love Ja, and was a huge fan of his prior to this season. My problem is more with Memphis as a whole than him and it’s getting hard to separate him out of it. The constant talking like they’ve won anything followed by not backing it up and going dead silent is just such fake tough guy energy

i don’t remember who said that the grizzlies right now are like the caddyshack 2 version of the fun grizzlies from like 2016 - constantly looking off stage to make sure they’re hitting the right notes - but it feels very appropriate to me
