They played a brutal game against a really good tournament team. It was like a title game. It reminds me somewhat of what Michigan had to deal with in '89. The game against Illinois was a brutal affair against a fantastic Illini club. I think they would have smoked Seton Hall if not for that. Baylor was great and they win. I just wish the title game could be moved to Tuesday to get a better representative of what I perceive to be reality.
If Iâd have taken Baylor over Gonzaga instead of Baylor over Michigan, Iâd have won a huge pool. Sigh.
One of the comments: âThey have Mo Bamba, D. Mitchell, and J. Butler. No wonder theyâre winningâ LOL
Right, theyâre still a great team. I was just surprised from the start of the tournament on about the amount of talk from the media about Gonzaga being an all-time great team. I had thought all along that narrative was a bit ridiculous and was happy to see them lose tonight.
The national title gameâs been over for like 15 minutes and KenPom still hasnât updated yet!! Câmon!! We need that banner!
UCLA #2, Purdue #3, OSU #4, Maryland #6, and Michigan #17? âWay-Too-Earlyâ sounds accurate.
Am I missing something on osu? Why are they suddenly a top 5 team?
I donât know. He is a nice player and I think he will catch on as a rotation piece due to defense but I think Suggs has a lot of potential to be a great PG.
I also think Timme is going to turn into a low key sleeper for the pros. I think a lot of people might drop him or write him off as a college star who wonât translate versus bigger more athletic bigs but I actually think he could turn into a really nice offensive big in the pros, particularly if he can catch on to the right bench unit.
That foot work and touch is something else. Elite body control. Nice face up game which will probably get better from range. Iâm starting to really come around on Kispertâs potential too. Shooters like that stick and he is a decent athlete.
are they getting Walker and Young back as super seniors? if they completely run it back I guess I could see it
Are they returning just about everyone and added Wheeler to a team that was a #2 seed this season?
And now that I think about it is it even crazier to have Purdue that high? Like thatâs putting a lot on Jaden Ivey to become a 1st team all conference level guy
The ball is tipped
Can you be a top 5 team if you have one dude capable of shooting at all? I get why Purdue is getting love, but top 5? Do they expect Jaden Ivey to become a top 10 player in the country?
It takes a top-flight team to give Oral Roberts that much of a scare. Plus, they have the seventh-best recruiting class in the country⌠oops, I mean seventh-best in the Big Ten. My bad.
Purdue at #3 is pretty optimistic. Yes, they were a young team but that would require some of the players to make a leap which could very well happen. Theyâre still a top 25 team but #3 is stretching it IMO
They get everyone back but I feel like their team is hard capped. Whereâs the improvement from this year?
IMO Michigan State will go undefeated next year
And emoni bates will plays 3 years at MSU
Honestly, these names seem like theyâve been drawn out of a hat. Iâd go with recency bias, except if you think UCLA is the second-best team in the country because they took Gonzaga to overtime, how does it then follow that Michigan is #17 because they lost by two? (edit: brain got ahead of fingers)
Are we really going to be dealing with a preseason top 5 Purdue? Are we projecting Ivey to win the Naismith?
Edit: I posted this before reading the comments before mine. I see weâre all on the same page
