2017 - G - Jordan Poole (Commit)

Really like the way he looks. Looks bigger too/ taller

Same school as Brian Bowen.

Jeremiah Tilmon plays their also. That is truly a loaded team. Not sure why he chose to transfer there because Tilmon and Bowen dominate the ball there and are much better prospects than Poole.

Likely to win and/or for the competition and coaching. His AAU team was not good, his high school team was mediocre, he doesnā€™t need the exposure to get offers from colleges because he has made his choice and consistently reiterated his satisfaction with it. That there are others at La Lumiere better than he is may well be a selling point, not a detriment, in this case.

Just 10 points per game for Poole at the Peach Invitational (tourney for non Peach Jam EYBL teams).

Struggled from three this week. Here are the box scoresā€¦

Safe to say the Mac Irvin move didnā€™t really work out that well for him this summer, will be interesting to see how he plays at La Lu. Think the reps against major competition will be good for him.

I have watched his youtube clips/videos he seems to be decent but is his game strictly relying upon the 3 ball? Boxscores only show numbers but also 60% of all his shots were behind the arc. Does he have a good midrange game or is a weakness right now?

No doubt that his game revolves around the perimeter shot right now and he has no problem getting them up in high volume.

Can see from his best game that when things start clicking he can do a bit more more. He struggled from three, but was 4-of-5 inside the arc vs. Southern Stampede and 8-of-9 at the free throw line with three assists.

Is it true he is playing his senior season somewhere else? I am moving to the Milwaukee area and was looking forward to catching some Rufus King games.

Yep, transferring to La Lumiere in Indiana.

For Jordan, it seems that less can be more is the step he needs to learn. When heā€™s just jacking shots, he can sometimes blow very coldā€“when heā€™s attacking, and using more of his skill set, he has passing skills and a mid-range game which compliment his shooting skills. It doesnā€™t help that his Mac Irvin Fire AAU squad is a tire fire.

I really think heā€™ll benefit from a year at la Lumiere, not only because of the high level competition, but also because of the ability to fit into a team where he will be playing with some great players alongside. I think he can, and will, be a very good secondary option at the college levelā€“a Dion Harris type.

I recall watching some video of Devin Booker that was not that impressive, where he was mainly jacking up threes. Being on the right team can be a big factor. How is he utilized? Do they run anything or just rely on one on one? Mitch had a tough senior year in prep school because the coach just utilized him as a post up center on a very talented team. He didnā€™t even start. He didnā€™t get the ball much. He dropped from top 10 player to high 20s.

@MattD has an interview of Poole. Love the character oozing out of this kid.

Good to hear heā€™s recruiting Jamal Cain, Justin Smith, Kyle Young and Brian Bowen. If we could land 2 of them id be ecstatic with the class.

Same here.

Letā€™s hope Poole knows how to use the Jordan brand to recruit as well as we all hope JB will learn to. Canā€™t wait for this kid to be on campus

Wow, those shoes are dope.
