Halleluiah! And, just to be clear I am far more happy for X and for the team and coaches than I am for the fans. X is an exceptional young man who obviously made a mistake, as have we all at one time or another! I’m proud that our coach and our university applied discipline without regard for who the player was who made the mistake. Now, let’s put this behind us and cheer for our kids, not because we want to win so badly, and yes, we do want to win, of course, but because they’re great kids and they DESERVE our support! Go Blue!!!
EDIT: And let me say, too, that I am proud of the way X handled this. He took full responsibility. He apologized, and he handled himself, during a very trying time during which his indiscretion was being carried out in public, in the way I think we would all want our sons to handle a similar situation. He didn’t run. He didn’t hide. He didn’t make excuses or claim to have done nothing wrong. Zavier Simpson handled this like the fine young man he is!

I heard that Dot had reported X wouldn’t be accompanying the team to NYC, but I don’t KNOW that Dot reported any such thing. I have not SEEN anything from Dot indicating he reported that.
Dot is one of my “go to” posters on anything regarding Michigan Basketball. I will continue to rely on information I glean from anything that comes from Dot.
If Dot misspoke on this, and I don’t know that he did, I will continue to go to him as a reliable source!
This is GOOD NEWS, folks. Let’s be happy X is back as the leader of this team!

An insider-y type. I don’t visit his current message board too much but I know he used to make these very cryptic predictions all the time (mainly about recruiting), always carefully worded to allow him plausible deniability in case it didn’t happen…

Reading this thread from the beginning got me a few in before realizing it was old.
Dot did on another forum and has admitted he is happy he was wrong. Sometimes things change quickly. From what I can figure, he wasn’t traveling prior to JH meeting with press, but things changed.
