Upset Special: #20 Wisconsin @ UW-Green Bay

UW-Green Bay will beat Wisconsin tonight. You heard it hear first. Why? Let me tell you.

  1. This is a UW-Green Bay team that beat Marquette last year and returns all 5 starters. They should have a pretty good season in the Horizon league.

  2. Wisconsin likes to play half-court basketball where size is crucial. UW-GB’s starting lineup…
    G: Keifer Sykes 5’11
    G: Vincent Garrett 6’6
    F: Jordan Fouse 6’7
    F: Greg Mays 6’9
    C: Alec Brown 7’1

…compared to Wisconsin
G: Traevon Jackson 6’2
G: Ben Brust 6’1
G: Josh Gasser 6’3
F: Sam Dekker: 6’7
F: Frank Kaminsky 7’0

  1. Wisconsin just came off two impressive wins, true, but those were at home. Wisconsin is one of the best teams there is at defending home court because the Kohl Center is tough to play at. The last time Wisconsin played @UW-GB, in 2009, #20 Wisconsin fell victim to an upset.

  2. Again, Wisconsin just came off two impressive wins. The Badgers had St. Johns and Florida circled on their schedule all off-season. I can see them riding a high and taking this game more lightly than they should.

  3. This is the biggest game of UW-GB’s season.

It was close for sure.
