Podium or No Podium?

Weird thought I had while watching Bo Ryan talk about the loss to Duke. Wisconsin does the table setup for pressers after the game. Michigan does the podium setup.

First question is: How unique is Michigan’s new presser setup? I definitely seem to recall more table setups in the B1G than otherwise.

Second question is: Do people prefer the podium setup Beilein uses or the table setup we see for tournaments and the NCAA tourney?

I’ve grown really accustomed to the “Beilein at the podium setup” more than in part to UMHoops. I also appreciate seeing Beilein look at/interact with his players simultaneously while they are answering questions. For example, Beilein looking at what Ricky is going to say when Ricky is asked a question in the preseason tournament.

Definitely acknowledging it’s a weird topic, but interested for other thoughts.

I usually just read the recaps.

What about if Bruce Weber was involved in the game? Would you rather see him behind a podium or at a table?

Electric chair.

Usually the only time that players are on the podium with the head coach is at pre and post-season tournaments. Or other one off neutral site games.

Technically, I think they both use podium setups. It would be more accurate to say that Wisconsin uses a table on their podium while Michigan uses a lectern on theirs.

One other thing to note is that after home games Michigan makes a few choice players available standing in different parts of the room. Not on the podium, but also not open locker room.
