Incredible highlight of Mara blocking a shot, running the floor and getting a finger roll lay in.
Also, most people look at counting stats and there are way more rebounds in an NBA game. More possessions, more minutes, etc.
his shot blocks just look so easy
I cannot emphasize enough how much I’m going to miss Mara, Yax and Morez this year. They were like a cheat code. What a joy it was to watch those guys on and off the court.
We went through what is likely the most fun and best college basketball season of our lifetimes. Special group.
yeah, i’ve been grieving/mourning it all summer. it’s hard to go into a season knowing it just can’t really be close. it can still be fun and it can still be interesting and i’m still curious about how it’s going to work out, but…man.
I’ve been rewatching the season from the beginning over the past few months, just finished the UCLA game. It is even more of a demolition than I remember. Just night after night absolutely crushing just about everything in their path, with very few exceptions. Its been delightful, I recommend it.
Remember when we almost lost to Penn State?! Sports are crazy.
Mara looked great. Played to all his strengths, including his court vision and passing.
Missing the NBA trio so much. Personalities, not just hooping.
I’m telling myself that I’ll be better about my outlook this year. IE be okay with the idea that between Dusty leaving, the insane schedule, and McCoy getting hurt, we will likely underachieve what I was hoping for from this year. That I can still watch Michigan/CBB and derive more joy from just watching other teams be good/fun because we finally just conquered the mountaintop.
Now am I fully embracing this in the obvious comparison of Michigan football these past few years? Of course not. But I am doing better than I used to!
They killed teams bad teams immediately, and good teams slowly and then suddenly. 32 minutes gradually pulling away from Illinois, 2 minutes of carnage, 4 minutes of Kenpom time in a deathly silent arena. Just, wow.
I like your idea of going in order. Might do that.
Aday Mara is now 15/15 from the field in the preseason (10/10 this game).
Just dominating everything in his way. And the difference is tonight he’s doing it playing with and against starters, as a starter.

Could you imagine how good he’d be if he actually wanted real coaching and not just being lied to!
Mara is playing with a lot of confidence, totally different product from a year ago.
Add “Mara outlet passes” to the list of specific things I’m really going to miss from last years’ team.
Mara is a cheat code.
It’s fun seeing OKC players realize that all they need to do is throw it up near the rim and Mara will go get it. They will love playing with him
